Sangita Shrestha is a Nepalese film director, screenwriter and media presenter. [1]

Career

Shrestha started her career on radio, later becoming a VJ for Image Channel from 2000-2004 and then at Kantipur Television, hosting the show Music Mela. [2] She began directing music videos and a series of short films. [2] [3] She has directed over 70 videos, but is best known for her short films series Katha Premka. [4] She later based a book of short love stories on this series, Kathama Aljhiyeka Prem, released in 2016. [5]

She appeared as a member of the jury panel for Miss Nepal 2016. [6] [7]

In 2018 she became a writer/director with a featured film Katha Kathmandu , based on the interconnected lives and relationships of three men living in Kathmandu. [8] [9]

Miss Teen Nepal is the second-largest beauty pageant in Nepal. This pageant is held by the Kathmandu Jaycees where; teen-aged girls from Nepal participate in the pageant. The reigning Miss Teen Nepal is Miss Aditi Koirala, who was crowned as Miss Teen Nepal in 2022.

Hidden Treasures Miss Nepal 2011, the 17th Miss Nepal beauty pageant was held on the August 30, 2011, at the Tribhuvan Army Club in Kathmandu. The new main sponsor for the event Dabur Nepal was Lux. This year, 19 young women aged 19 years and above, had been shortlisted for the final from across the country. Sadichha Shrestha Miss Nepal 2010 winner, crowned her successor in the finale event at Tribhuvan Army Club. The winner, Malina Joshi, represented Nepal in the international pageants of Miss World 2011. First Runner Up Anupama Aura Gurung represented Nepal at Miss Earth 2011, and Sarina Maskey went to the Miss International 2011.

The event is held at the residence of the president of Nepal and the president gives the awards to the winners in various categories. It is yearly organised by Film Development Board, Nepal.

The film stars Priyanka Karki, Pramod Agrahari, Ayushman Joshi, Sanjog Koirala, Sandhya K.C., and Prekshya Adhikari in the lead roles. The movie is about three inter connections of three men who live in Kathmandu.

Sangita Magar is a Nepalese woman who became an activist for victims' rights after surviving an acid attack. She and a friend were attacked when she was 16, but managed to take her SLC exam 25 days later. She subsequently fought to change laws pertaining to victims of such attacks and to the unregulated sale of acid.

During the coronation night, three winners will be crowned by Miss World Nepal 2020 Namrata Shrestha, Miss Earth Nepal 2020 Supriya Shrestha and Miss International Nepal 2020 Sandhya Sharma.

Miss Universe Nepal 2022 is the 3rd annual Miss Universe Nepal beauty pageant, held on 25 August 2022. At the end of the event, Sujita Basnet crowned Sophiya Bhujel as her successor. She is set to represent Nepal in the Miss Universe 2022.
