Sangrambhaiya Arunkaka Jagtap is a member of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He represents the Ahmednagar City Assembly Constituency. He belongs to the Nationalist Congress Party and Sangrambhaiya is the son-in-law of Rahuri, Ahmednagar MLA Shivaji Bhanudas Kardile. [1]

On 22 March 2017, Jagtap was suspended along with 18 other MLAs until 31 December for interrupting Maharashtra Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar during a state budget session and burning copies of the budget outside the assembly four days earlier. [2]

On 7 April 2018 MLA Sangram Jagtap was among four held for murder of two Shiv Sena men in Maharashtra's Ahmednagar. [3] Meanwhile, supporters of Jagtap allegedly vandalised the office of Ahmednagar superintendent of police after he was held in connection with the killings. [4]

He is the chairperson of Maha Vikas Aghadi, a regional Maharashtra-based political alliance.

The Nationalist Congress Party is one of the state parties in India. It refers to the Ajit Pawar faction after the 2023 split in the party when the Supreme Court of India granted the original party name and symbol to the Nationalist Congress Party. It was one of the major political parties in Maharashtra and was a recognised state party in Nagaland and Kerala. In July 2023, majority of the elected MLAs and MLCs of the party led by Ajit Pawar joined the National Democratic Alliance government, however, all MPs except two remained loyal to Sharad Pawar. This caused a direct split between the Ajit Pawar-led faction and the founder and president Sharad Pawar who formed the Nationalist Congress Party after EC recognised the Ajit Pawar faction as the original party.

Arun Gulab Gawli also known as Arun Gulab Ahir, is an Indian politician, underworld don and retired gangster. Gawli and his brother Kishor (Pappa) entered the Mumbai underworld in the 1970s, when they joined the "Byculla Company", a criminal gang led by Rama Naik and Babu Reshim, operating in the central Mumbai areas of Byculla, Parel and Saat Rasta. In 1988, after Rama Naik was killed in a police encounter, Gawli took over the gang and began operating it from his residence, Dagdi Chawl. Under his control, the gang controlled most criminal activities in the central Mumbai areas. Throughout the late eighties and nineties, Gawli's gang was involved in a power struggle with Dawood Ibrahim's D-Company gang. Gawli is also the founder of the Akhil Bharatiya Sena political party based in Maharashtra.

He is a member of Maharashtra Legislative Council since 2020, the president of Maha Vikas Aghadi since 2019 and the president of Shiv Sena (UBT) since 2022. He was also the leader (pramukh) of Shiv Sena from 2013 to 2022, working President from 2003 to 2013 and the editor-in-chief of Saamana from 2006 to 2019.

The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena is a Regionalist far-right Indian political party based in the state of Maharashtra and operates on the ideology of Hindutva and Marathi Manus. It was founded on 9 March 2006 in Mumbai by Raj Thackeray after he left the Shiv Sena party due to differences with his cousin Uddhav Thackeray, who later became the 19th Chief Minister Of Maharashtra and to his sidelining by the Shiv Sena in major decisions like distribution of election tickets.

Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhav is an Indian politician serving as the Minister of AYUSH since 2024. He is a member of the Shiv Sena party and has been elected to the Lok Sabha from the Buldhana constituency in Maharashtra for four consecutive terms since 2009. Jadhav began his political career in 1986 and served three terms as a Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from 1995 to 2009. During this period, he also held the position of Minister of State for Sports, Youth Welfare, and Irrigation in the Shiv Sena-BJP government of Maharashtra from 1997 to 1999. In addition to his political roles, Jadhav is actively involved in various community initiatives and social welfare programmes.

Maharashtra is India's third largest state by area and has over 112 million inhabitants. The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly is the lower house of the bicameral legislature of Maharashtra state in western India. It consists of 288 members directly elected from single-seat constituencies. The Assembly meets at Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai, though the winter session is held in Nagpur. Along with the Maharashtra Legislative Council, it comprises the legislature of Maharashtra. The presiding officer of the Assembly is the Speaker. Members of the Assembly are directly elected by the people of Maharashtra through elections held every five years, unless the Assembly is dissolved earlier. The current Assembly was elected in October 2019.

Sadashiv Kisan Lokhande is a member of the 17th Lok Sabha of India. He represents the Shirdi constituency of Maharashtra and is a member of the Shiv Sena political party. After the split in Shiv Sena, Sadashiv Lokhande left Uddhav Thackeray and went with Eknath Shinde.

Eknath Sambhaji Shinde is an Indian politician who is serving as the 20th and current Chief Minister of Maharashtra since 30 June 2022. He is also serving as the Leader of Shiv Sena since February 2023 and the Leader of the House, Maharashtra Legislative Assembly since July 2022. He is also the Member of Legislative Assembly for the Kopri-Pachpakhadi constituency of Thane, Maharashtra since 2009 and was formerly the MLA of Thane constituency from 2004 to 2009.

Vijayrao Bhaskarrao Auti is a leader of Shivsena. He has served office as a Deputy Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in the year 2018–2019. He had been elected for three consecutive terms in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for 2004, 2009 and 2014. Vijay Auti is the son of Bhaskarrao Auti, freedom fighter and ex-MLA from Parner. Ravi Gaikwad, Chief of RTO Thane, Chief of road safety cell, Government of Maharashtra, is his nephew, son of his elder sister Pushpa Gaikwad.

Sada Sarvankar is an Indian politician and Shiv Sena leader from Dadar, Mumbai. He is a member of the 13th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He represents the Mahim Assembly Constituency. He had been elected to Vidhan Sabha for three terms in 2004, 2014 and 2019. Before that he served as Corporator in Brighanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for three terms from 1992 to 2004 till he was asked to contest Dadar Constituency in 2004.

Harshvardhan Jadhav is an Indian politician who formerly represented Kannad in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He has been a member of Shiv Sena, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, Shiv Swarajya Paksha at various times in his political career and later joined in Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

Abdul Sattar Abdul Nabi is an Indian politician from Maharashtra. He was briefly a minister in 2014 in the Congress government in Maharashtra. In 2019 he left Congress and joined Shiv Sena. He is a three term Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from the Sillod constituency. He served as the state's Cabinet Minister for Animal Husbandry.

The 2022 Maharashtra political crisis began on 21 June 2022 in the Indian state of Maharashtra when Eknath Shinde, along with several other MLAs of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition moved to Surat in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-governed Gujarat, throwing the coalition into a crisis.

Sunil Tingre is a leader of the Nationalist Congress Party and a Member of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly (MLA), elected from Vadgaon Sheri Assembly constituency in Pune city.
