Sanjana Sanghi (born 2 September 1996) is an Indian actress and model who works in Hindi films. She made her acting debut as a child artist in the 2011 film Rockstar [1] and after appearing in a few supporting roles, she had her breakthrough with the romantic drama film Dil Bechara (2020). Sanghi has since starred in Rashtra Kavach Om (2022), Dhak Dhak (2023) and Kadak Singh (2023). [2] [3]

Early life

Sanjana Sanghi was born on 2 September 1996[ citation needed ] in Delhi, India to businessman Sandeep Sanghi and homemaker Shagun. [4] She has a brother, Sumer. [5] [ better source needed ] She studied at Modern School in Delhi and then completed her graduation in Journalism and Mass communication from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi in 2017. [6]

Career

2011-2017

Sanghi made her acting debut in Imtiaz Ali's romantic drama film Rockstar in 2011. She was cast by Mukesh Chhabra after he saw her performing on stage at her school. [7] In 2016, she played student in Jai's classroom in Baar Baar Dekho . In 2017, she played Katty in Fukrey Returns and the younger role of Saba Qamar in Hindi Medium . [8] [9]

2018-present

In 2018, she was chosen as the female lead for Dil Bechara, starring alongside Sushant Singh Rajput in the adaptation of The Fault in Our Stars . [10] The film released in 2020 on Disney+Hotstar. [11]

Sanghi next featured in Kapil Verma's action drama Rashtra Kavach Om alongside Aditya Roy Kapur. [12] The movie was released in July 2022. [13] In 2023, she played the role of a first time solo traveller in the film Dhak Dhak . [14] She will be next seen in Kadak Singh .

The Fault in Our Stars is a novel by John Green. It is his fourth solo novel, and sixth novel overall. It was published on January 10, 2012. The title is inspired by Act 1, Scene 2 of Shakespeare's play Julius Caesar, in which the nobleman Cassius says to Brutus: "Men at some time were masters of their fates, / The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, / But in ourselves, that we are underlings." The story is narrated by Hazel Grace Lancaster, a 16-year-old girl with thyroid cancer that has affected her lungs. Hazel is forced by her parents to attend a support group where she subsequently meets and falls in love with 17-year-old Augustus Waters, an ex-basketball player, amputee, and survivor of osteosarcoma.

Dil Bechara is a 2020 Indian Hindi-language coming-of-age tragedy romance film directed by Mukesh Chhabra in his directorial debut, and produced by Fox Star Studios, with a script written by Shashank Khaitan and Suprotim Sengputa. Based on John Green's 2012 novel The Fault in Our Stars and its subsequent 2014 American film adaptation, the film stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi as terminal cancer patients with an ensemble supporting cast, while Saif Ali Khan makes a cameo appearance. Laxmii is a 2020 Indian Hindi-language horror comedy film written and directed by Raghava Lawrence, marking his directorial debut in the Hindi film industry. A remake of his own Tamil film Kanchana (2011), it stars Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani, while Ayesha Raza Mishra, Rajesh Sharma, Ashwini Kalsekar and Sharad Kelkar play pivotal roles. The film revolves around a man who gets possessed by the ghost of a transgender person. <i>Kadak Singh</i> 2023 film by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury

Kadak Singh is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language thriller film directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and produced by WIZ Films along with KVN Productions. It has been produced by Viraf Sarkari and Mahesh Ramanathan. The film stars an ensemble cast including Pankaj Tripathi, Jaya Ahsan, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Sanjana Sanghi in prominent roles. This is the first Hindi film of Bangladeshi actress Jaya Ahsan. The film was released on 8 December 2023 on ZEE5. The film had its world premiere at the 54th International Film Festival of India on 22 November 2023.
