Anand is a 2004 Indian Telugu-language drama film that was directed, produced and written by Sekhar Kammula. The film has the tagline Manchi coffee lanti cinema meaning a movie that is like a cup of good coffee. The lead roles were played by Raja and Kamalinee Mukherjee. The film was well received by critics and became a Cult Classic at the box office, it was remade in Tamil as Ninaithale. The film's basic story was also chosen as the subject for Sekhar Kammula's thesis screenplay which was a requirement for his Masters in Fine Arts at Howard University. The film was screened at the International Film Festival of India in the mainstream section.

Allu Arjun is an Indian film actor known for his work in Telugu cinema. In 1985, at the age of two, he made his Telugu debut in the film Vijetha, directed by A. Kodandarami Reddy. Sixteen years later, Arjun made a cameo appearance as Gopi, a dancer, in the 2001 film Daddy directed by Suresh Krissna. He had his first leading role in the 2003 film Gangotri, directed by K. Shankar Melkote is a Telugu comedian, supporting actor and CEO of a marketing company in Hyderabad. He started his film career with Jandhyala's Srivariki Premalekha and went on to appear in 180 films. He is one of the speakers and writers at the Hyderabad Literary Festival. Melkote received the 17th Yudhvir Memorial Award in 2008 for outstanding contribution. He was the father-in-law of M.V.Sridhar, well noted Hyderabad ranji player and Former BCCI General Manager.
