Sashadhar Mukherjee was an Indian filmmaker in Hindi cinema. He started his career with Bombay Talkies in the 1930s, and later established Filmistan Studio with Rai Bahadur Chunilal, Ashok Kumar and Gyan Mukherjee in 1943. In the 1950s, he went on to start his independent studio, Filmalaya. He is noted for films like Dil Deke Dekho (1959), Love in Simla (1960), Ek Musafir Ek Hasina (1962) and Leader (1964). Nuthakki Bhanu Prasad (1928-2013) was an Indian chemical engineer, bureaucrat and a former chairman of the Oil and Natural Gas Commission (ONGC). He is credited with the design of the first Magnesium Plant in India in 1994 and was involved with the commissioning of Apsara research reactor, the first Indian atomic reactor. The Government of India honoured him in 1960, with the award of Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award for his services to the nation.
Bishnupada Mukerjee or Bishnupada Mukhopadhyaya was an Indian pharmacologist and orthopedic surgeon, known for his contributions in the fields of pharmacological research and standardization of drugs in India. The Government of India honoured him in 1962, with the award of Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award for his services to the nation.
Bhupathiraju Vissam Raju (1920–2002) was an Indian industrialist, a former chairman of Raasi Cements and the Cement Corporation of India and one of the pioneers of Indian cement industry. He was the director of Sagi Ramakrishnam Raju Constructions and Prasad and Company Project Works Limited. He was also interested in ceramics and refractory industries and Starting in 1997, he founded two engineering colleges, a dental college and hospital, a college of pharmacy, a computer education college, a polytechnic, and several schools, and he is the founder of the Padmasri Dr. B.V Raju Institute of Technology. The Government of India awarded him the fourth-highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri in 1977 and followed it with the third-highest honour of Padma Bhushan in 2001.
S. V. S. Raghavan is an Indian industrialist and the former head of Bharat Business International Limited (BBIL). He headed the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited in the 1980s after which served Ashok Leyland and Texmaco before taking up the chairmanship of Minerals and Metals Trading Corporation (MMTC). In March 1990, he was appointed as the chairman of BBIL, an apex organization which had MMTC and State Trading Corporation of India (STC) as its subsidiaries. Recipient of National Citizen Award by the President of India-1989, Retired in the rank of Secretary in Ministry of Commerce, Govt.of India, Chairman of the Committee on Competition Law & Policy, Retired Member of the Indian Defence Accounts Services.
Vijay Kumar Chaturvedi is an Indian mechanical engineer and a nuclear power expert. He is a former Chairman and Managing Director of the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL). He did his graduate studies in mechanical engineering at Vikram University- Samrat Ashok Technological Institute in 1965 and secured a master's degree in nuclear engineering from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre Training School, Trombay.
Nalini Ranjan Mohanty is a retired IOFS officer and former Chairman & Managing Director of the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). He is a former president of the Aeronautical Society of India (ASI) and has been the chairman and managing director of Textron India. A Fellow of the ASI and the Institution of Engineers (India), Mohanty received the Ruchi Prativa Samman in 2003. The Government of India awarded him the fourth-highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2004, for his contributions to Indian industrial sector.
Mantosh Sondhi was an IOFS officer. He served as the first General Manager of the Heavy Vehicles Factory, one of the 41 Indian Ordnance Factories. He was the founding Chairman & Managing Director of Bokaro Steel Plant. He was the first IOFS officer and first non-IAS officer to hold the posts of Secretary of Ministry of Heavy Industries, Ministry of Steel, Ministry of Mines and Ministry of Coal. He studied engineering at the University of London. He was awarded Padma Shri in 1968 by the President of India. In 1995, he was decorated as Commander of the Order of the Lion of Finland by the President of Finland. The headquarters of Confederation of Indian Industry is named in his honour. He was a member of the Atomic Energy Commission of India. He also served as the Chairman of several MNCs such as Ashok Leyland, ABB, Wärtsilä. His son is Vipin Sondhi, former CEO and MD of JCB India and Ashok Leyland.
