Sara Varga Madeleine Jonsson (born 14 April 1982), known professionally as Sara Varga, is a Swedish vispop singer, songwriter, author, and DJ.

In Summer 2010, Varga went on concert tour together with Swedish boy band Rebound!. In Autumn 2010 she was DJ in the 4th season of the TV-program Raw Comedy Club . Varga contested Melodifestivalen 2011 with the song "Spring för livet", which she wrote together with Figge Boström, and finished in ninth place. She participated again in Melodifestivalen 2017 with Juha Mulari with the song "Du får inte ändra på mig", however she did not qualify for the final. [1]

Sweden participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "Popular" written by Fredrik Kempe. The song was performed by Eric Saade. The Swedish broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT) organised the national final Melodifestivalen 2011 in order to select the Swedish entry for the 2011 contest in Düsseldorf, Germany. After a six-week-long competition consisting of four heats, a Second Chance round and a final, "Popular" performed by Eric Saade emerged as the winner after achieving the highest score following the combination of votes from eleven international jury groups and a public vote.

"Spring för livet" is a 2011 song written by Fredrik Boström and Sara Varga, and performed by Sara Varga at Melodifestivalen 2011, during the third semifinal in Linköping, where the song reached Andra chansen, and later the final, ending up 9th. It also charted at Svensktoppen for 35 weeks. The song's lyrics gained attention for its depiction of abuse, serving as a contrast to the less serious topics common at Melodifestivalen.

Melodifestivalen 2016 was the 56th edition of the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen, which selected Sweden's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The competition was organised by Sveriges Television (SVT) and took place over the six-week period between 6 February and 12 March 2016.
