NHS Digital was the trading name of the Health and Social Care Information Centre,which was the national provider of information,data and IT systems for commissioners,analysts and clinicians in health and social care in England,particularly those involved with the National Health Service of England. The organisation was an executive non-departmental public body of the Department of Health and Social Care.

These included the Department of Health,Monitor,Health Authorities,NHS Trusts,pharmaceutical companies as well as the Prime Minister's Delivery Unit,the Cabinet Office,the Home Office and the Ministry of Justice. Ruth also has experience as a non-executive Partner of a public company,chair of a private company and trustee of a charity. She was described by the Health Service Journal as one of the NHS's most senior and respected leaders.
Sir James Mackey,Chief Executive of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust,was appointed to be Chief Executive of NHS Improvement in October 2015 as a two-year secondment. He confirmed that he intended to return to Northumbria. He resumed his post as Chief Executive at Northumbria Healthcare Trust in November 2017.

She was formerly chief executive of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust from January 2016 to July 2019,having been acting chief executive from October 2015 to January 2016.
Donna Ockenden,is a British midwife and community activist. She was commissioned in 2016 by the then UK Secretary for Health and Social Care,Jeremy Hunt,to chair an independent review into maternity services at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. Initial findings of the Ockenden Review were reported in December 2020,with a final report published on 17 March 2022. In May 2022,it was announced by NHS England that Ockenden would chair an independent review of maternity services at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH). This review commenced at the beginning of September 2022 and is expected to continue until late 2025.
