Saraswati Medical College is a private medical institute in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, India, under the aegis of Saraswati Group of Educational Institutes which also has a Dental college and a 300 bed Hospital. [1]
In February 2021, the Supreme Court of India imposed a fine of Rs 5 crore on the Saraswati Education Charitable Trust, the administrative body for the medical college, for admitting 132 MBBS students without necessary permission from the Director General Medical Education, Uttar Pradesh and found to be in violation of the Medical Council of India (now the National Medical Commission). The Unnao rape case refers to the gang rape of a 17-year-old girl on 4 June 2017 in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, India. On 16 December 2019, former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar was convicted for the rape on 20 December 2019 and sentenced to life imprisonment. Further, Sengar was found guilty in the death of the girl's father in judicial custody.

The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is a group of autonomous government public medical universities of higher education under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. These institutes have been declared by an Act of Parliament as Institutes of National Importance. AIIMS New Delhi, the forerunner institute, was established in 1956. Since then, 24 more institutes were announced. As of January 2023, twenty institutes are operating and four more are expected to become operational until 2025. Proposals were made for six more AIIMS. It is considered as pioneer health institution of South Asia.
