Sarath Amunugama, JP is a leading Sri Lankan academic, who is a professor of French and the founding Vice-Chancellor of the University of the Visual & Performing Arts, Colombo. He is a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya.
Amunugama received his secondary education at Kingswood College, Kandy and entered the University of Ceylon before attending University of Sorbonne III, Paris specializing in modern languages where he gained his Licentiate, Master's and PhD. He then gain a DESS from the University of Burgundy.
During his long teaching career he had held several distinguished positions such as dean, Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya before benign appointed as the first Vice Chancellor of the newly established University of the Visual & Performing Arts on July 1, 2005. [1] In 2008 he was appointed vice chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. [2]

Sangeeth Nipun Herath Mudiyanselage Sanath Nandasiri was a Sri Lankan singer, musician, music director, composer and playback singer. He was the Chancellor of the University of the Visual and Performing Arts in Sri Lanka. One of the iconic singers in Sri Lankan music, Nandasiri received several awards for his compositions in a career spanned more than six decades. He also composed the music to Sandamalige Kathawa, the first TV serial on Rupavahini.

University of the Visual and Performing Arts (UVPA) is a public university located primarily in Colombo, Sri Lanka, specialising in art, design, fashion and the performing arts. It was formerly known as the Government College of Fine Arts, Heywood Institute of Art and the Institute of Aesthetic Studies of the University of Ceylon. It has no known date of foundation, but there is evidence of teaching as far back as 1893. It is the only university in Sri Lanka to exclusively offer special degree programs in visual and performing arts.

He is the youngest Vice Chancellor appointed to the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka. He is a Professor in Environmental Conservation and Management attached to the Department of Zoology and Environmental Management, University of Kelaniya and has done extraordinary service to Sri Lanka as an Environmentalist. He was awarded many presidential awards for the scientific research he has done on water resources management.
Saumya Liyanage is an actor in Sri Lankan cinema, stage drama and television. He is a senior lecturer and currently the Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies in University of the Visual and Performing Arts by profession. Highly versatile actor mainly involved in dramatic roles, Saumya is the son of veteran dramatist Hemasiri Liyanage and brother of musician Indrachapa Liyanage.
Senake Dias Bandaranayake was a Sri Lankan archeologist, who served as emeritus professor and vice chancellor at University of Kelaniya. His research was focused on architecture, art history, and ancient paintings of South Asia, including Sri Lanka.
