Saratoga Springs High School is a public high school in Saratoga Springs, New York. The school was originally located on Lake Avenue, relocating to its current location prior to 1969. The current campus was renovated in 2002. The school's drama club and cross country teams consistently rank high in competitions. Its sport teams are called the Blue Streaks.
The school made national news in 1966, when 18-year-old Sharon Ann Dalrymple was sent home for wearing slacks. Her parents appealed the decision to the State Education Department. [2]
An alumnus of the school disrupted the graduation ceremony held at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in 2008, running across the stage dressed in a costume modeled on male genitalia. [3]
In 2024, media reported on track coaches Art and Linda Kranick who had purportedly abused their authority over the course of over 35 years. They allegedly denied student athletes a day off, attempted to influence runners’ diets, weekend schedules, vitamin supplements, and orthotic shoe inserts. [4]
The Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, colloquially referred to as BPI, Poly, and The Institute, is a US public high school founded in 1883. Established as an all-male manual trade / vocational high school by the Baltimore City Council and the Baltimore City Public Schools, it is now a coeducational academic institution since 1974, that emphasizes sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics ("STEM"). It is located on a 53-acre (21 ha) tract of land in North Baltimore on the east bank of the Jones Falls stream. B.P.I. and the adjacent still all-girls population of the Western High School are located on the same huge joint campus at the northwest corner of West Cold Spring Lane and Falls Road.
Anthony Lee Weaver is an American football coach and former player who is the defensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served for the Cleveland Browns, the Buffalo Bills, the Baltimore Ravens, the Houston Texans and the New York Jets. Weaver was a college football defensive end at Notre Dame and was drafted by the Ravens in the second round of the 2002 NFL draft. He also previously played for the Texans.
St. Thomas Aquinas High School is a private, Catholic, college-preparatory high school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He has served as the defensive coordinator for the Ravens, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, and Atlanta Falcons. Pees was also the head coach at Kent State University from 1998 to 2003, compiling a record of 17–51.
Paul L. D. Blair was an American professional baseball player and coach. He played in Major League Baseball as an outfielder from 1964 through 1980, most notably as the center fielder for the Baltimore Orioles dynasty that won four American League pennants and two World Series championships between 1966 and 1971. He also played for the New York Yankees and the Cincinnati Reds.
Thomas Jefferson High School is a secondary school located in the Southmoor Park neighborhood, on the southeast side of Denver, Colorado, United States.
