Sarisab Pahi is a village in Madhubani District, Bihar, India.Sarisab Pahi is in the Madhubani Vidhan Sabha and Lok sabha constituency. The local language is Maithili.

It is the birthplace of the scholars Amarnath Jha and Hetukar Jha. As per mythology the first ranked educated Brahman family was located here. And after that family diversions some people moved to other places and started their working and residence.

Saurath Sabha is a historical village situated approximately 6 km northeast of Madhubani in the Madhubani District of Bihar, India. It is famous for its annual gathering of thousands of Maithil Brahman to match couples during the Hindu months of Jyestha-Aasadh. The gathering is organised in an orchard covering 22 acres (bighas) of land, which are said to have been donated by the Maharaja of Darbhanga. It is an important social event in India that is focused on arranged marriages between Maithil men and women according to a reading of their lineage history by the registrars (Panjikars).

Hukmdev Narayan Yadav is a politician from Bihar, who has been Union Minister of Cabinet Textile and food processing He is the recipient of Padma Bhushan India's third highest civilian award. He represented the Madhubani constituency of Bihar 1977, 1999, 2009, 2014 and 1989 from Sitamarhi loksabha constituency. He was with Socialist Party in 1960s and various faces of Janata Dal and its off-shoots in 1980s, but later he joined Bharatiya Janata Party. Yadav is known for his fiery speeches in the parliament. In August 2018, Yadav was recipient of Outstanding Parliamentarian Award for 2014-2017 period and was felicitated at an event at the central hall of Parliament.

Amaranatha Jha was the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University of Allahabad and the Banaras Hindu University. He was the son of Mahamahopadhyay Dr. Sir Ganganath Jha, a great scholar of Sanskrit Amaranatha Jha was reputed as the ablest professor of English literature in India of his time. He was Head of the Department of English at the University of Allahabad for a long time, being appointed to the post at the young age of thirty-two. He succeeded his father as Vice-Chancellor of the Allahabad University of the Banaras Hindu University in succession to Dr. Radhakrishnan. He worked as Vice Chairman of the committee for the project leading to the establishment of the National Defence Academy. He was one amongst eminent dignitaries associated with the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sanstahan, Allahabad. At the end of his academic career, he was made the Chairman of the Bihar Public Service Commission.

Navtol is a small village of sarisab-pahi west panchayat of Pandaul block in Madhubani district of Bihar State in India. It is located 1.5 kilometres north of National Highway-57, Ganguli chawk. The village Navtol "Sarisabpahi" is situated at 16–17 kilometers south-east from district headquarters (Madhubani), in Darbhanga commissionary of state Bihar. It is an important Tola of revenue village Sarisab alise Sarisab-pahi. Now there are two Panchayats, Sarisab-pahi to the East and Sarisab-pahi to the West. Other Tolas are Pahitol and Bitthotol. Total area of Navtol now is 1.5 km2. The population of this village is 6500–7000. Hindi, Maithili and English are spoken and written in this area, Maithili being the main language of this village. And scripts of this village are Devnagari, Roman and Mithilakshar (tirhuta). Durga pooja celebrated in Navtol, every year in "Ashwin" since 1840. It is near jhanjharpur railway station. This place is famous for durgapuja.

Bhogendra Jha was an Indian politician belonging to the Communist party of India. He was elected to the Lok Sabha the lower house of Indian parliament from Madhubani, Bihar.

Shiva Chandra Jha was an Indian politician and independence activist belonging to the Samyukta Socialist Party. He was elected to the lower House of the Indian Parliament the Lok Sabha from Madhubani in Bihar. Jha was also member of Rajya Sabha from 10 April 1978 to 9 April 1984, representing the Janta Party. He died on 8 November 1989, at the age of 60.

Bhawana Jha is an Indian politician and was the former member of Bihar Legislative Assembly from Benipatti. In the 2015 Bihar Assembly Election, she contested from Benipatti, Madhubani district and defeated senior BJP leader Vinod Narayan Jha.
