Satish K. Agnihotri (born 1 July 1956) is the former Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court. Earlier he has served as a judge of the Madras High Court at Chennai, Tamil Nadu and previously as the judge of Chhattisgarh High Court at Bilaspur Chhattisgarh. [1] He was sworn in by Acting Chief Justice R.K. Agarwal on 26 September 2013 as a judge of the Madras High Court. [2] On 13 February 2014, he assumed the charge as the acting Chief Justice of the Madras High Court. On 22 September 2016, Agnihotri took charge as the Chief Justice of the Sikkim High Court after Justice Sunil Kumar Sinha. [3]
The Chhattisgarh High Court is one of the High Courts in India located at Village Bodri, Bilaspur with jurisdiction over the state of Chhattisgarh. It was established on 1 November 2000 with the creation of New state of Chhattisgarh upon the reorganisation of the state of Madhya Pradesh. The High Court of Bilaspur is the 19th High Court of India.
The Sikkim High Court is the High Court of the Indian state of Sikkim. The history of the court can be traced back to 1955, when the High Court of Judicature Proclamation, 1955 was issued to establish a High Court in Sikkim. Upon merger, Sikkim became the 22nd State of India. Under Clause (i) of Article 371F, the High Court functioning immediately prior to the date of merger became the High Court for the State of Sikkim under the Constitution like any other High Court in the country. It was established in 1975.

Sir Srinivas Varadachariar was an Indian jurist who was the first Indian chief justice of the Federal Court of India when he served as the acting chief justice of the court between 25 April 1943 and 7 June 1943. He was also a judge of the Madras High Court and of the Federal Court of India. Varadachariar headed the ad-hoc committee of the Constituent Assembly of India, which drafted the provisions to set up the Supreme Court of India.
