Sunil Kumar Sinha (born 7 July 1954) is an Indian Judge and former Chief Justice of the Sikkim High Court. [1]

Career

Sinha was born at Ambikapur in 1954 in a lawyer family. He studied in Government Multipurpose Higher Secondary School, Ambikapur and passed LL.B. in 1980 from Government P.G. College of Ambikapur. He was enrolled as an advocate under Madhya Pradesh Bar Council on 3 September 1980. Initially he started practice in District Court of Ambikapur, later in the Madhya Pradesh High Court. [2] In May 2003, Sinha was appointed an Additional Advocate General of Chhattisgarh. On 1st December 2004, he became the permanent Judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court. [3] On 14 July 2014, Sinha was transferred as a judge of the Sikkim High Court and on 30 March 2015 he was elevated to the post of the Chief Justice of the Sikkim High Court. [4] [5]

He was sworn in by Acting Chief Justice R.K. Agarwal on 26 September 2013 as a judge of the Madras High Court. On 13 February 2014, he assumed the charge as the acting Chief Justice of the Madras High Court. On 22 September 2016, Agnihotri took charge as the Chief Justice of the Sikkim High Court after Justice Sunil Kumar Sinha.

Kumar Rajarathnam was an Indian Barrister and former Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. He was the first barrister to be appointed a judge, after the Independence of India.

He was a practicing lawyer in Gwalior before he got elevated to the bench.

Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta is the Parliamentary Ombudsman for the state of Madhya Pradesh (India). It is a high level statutory functionary, created to address grievances of the public against ministers, legislators, administration and public servants in issues related to misuse of power, mal-administration and corruption. It was first formed under the Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta and Deputy Lokayukta Act-1981, and approved by the president of India. The passage of Lokpal and Lokayukta's Act,2013 in Parliament had become law from January 16,2014 and requires each state to appoint its Lokayukta within a year. A bench of Lokayukta should consist of judicial and non-judicial members. An Upa-Lokayukta is a deputy to Lokayukta and assists him in his work and acts in-charge Lokayukta in case the position fells vacant before time.
