A provost is a senior academic administrator. At many institutions of higher education,the provost is the chief academic officer,a role that may be combined with being deputy to the chief executive officer. They may also be the chief executive officer of a university,of a branch campus of a university,or of a college within a university.
Richard Gerald Wilkinson is a British social epidemiologist,author,advocate,and left-wing political activist. He is Professor Emeritus of social epidemiology at the University of Nottingham,having retired in 2008. He is also Honorary Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health at University College London and Visiting Professor at University of York. In 2009,Richard co-founded The Equality Trust. Richard was awarded a 2013 Silver Rose Award from Solidar for championing equality and the 2014 Charles Cully Memorial Medal by the Irish Cancer Society.
Mark Andrew Peel,historian and academic,was the Director of Educational Innovation at the University of Leicester until retiring in 2019. He also served the university as Provost,Pro Vice Chancellor and Head of the College of Arts,Humanities and Law. Before going to Leicester,he was Professor of Modern Cultural and Social History and Head of the School of the Arts at the University of Liverpool and a Professor and Head of the School of Historical Studies in the Faculty of Arts at Monash University in Australia. He was elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia in 2008 and became a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society in 2010.
Sir David Greenaway DL is a British economist. He is professor of economics and was previously the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nottingham,having succeeded Sir Colin Campbell on 1 October 2008. In September 2016,he announced his decision to retire,and stepped down at the end of September 2017 with Shearer West succeeding Greenaway.
Professor Richard Higgott was born in 1949 in Nottingham,UK. He is based in the Brussels School of Governance,the Vrije Universiteit Brussel where he is Distinguished Professor of Diplomacy. From 2020 he has been a Visiting Professor in the Department of Social,Political and Cognitive Sciences at the University of Siena in Italy. He is also a part time visiting fellow at the Robert Schuman Center at the European University Institute.

He did his doctoral work and began his academic career at the University of Auckland,New Zealand. He has been a visiting scholar at Brown University,USA,Wellesley College,USA,and the Australian National University.
