Schak

Shakeil Luciano, known professionally as Schak, is a DJ from North Shields, Tyne and Wear, in North East England. [1]

Prior to becoming a DJ, Schak worked as a lifeguard and later for HM Revenue and Customs. [2]

Schak released his debut single "Moving All Around (Jumpin')" on Trick Records in October 2022. [3] [4] The song samples "Bumpin' & Jumpin'" by Kim English. Following the release of the single, Schak has held flash mobs in various locations including a B&Q store, a Tyne and Wear Metro train, the Shields Ferry, on board a bus, and outside of St James Park following a Newcastle United victory. During these events, Schak performed a DJ set. [1] [5] [6] The track was also awarded Radio 1's Hottest Record by Danny Howard. [7]

Schak has been involved in the north east Mákina scene and is behind the character Nanna Makina. [8]

The accident at St Bedes Junction was one of several serious accidents in 1915. It featured a double collision and fire fuelled by gas, characteristics shared by a much worse accident that year at Quintinshill. There were also similarities in that a signalman was unaware of the presence of a train near his signal box and rules were not observed. The accident is sometimes referred to as the Jarrow railway disaster as there was no station at Bede and Jarrow was then the nearest place of importance.
