Schlager Metal is a 1998 album by Swedish heavy metal band Black Ingvars. [1] On the album, they cover Melodifestivalen songs in heavy metal version. However, the first song, "Cherie", was their own and they performed it at the Swedish Melodifestivalen 1998, where it finished fifth.

Bang-A-Boomerang

"Bang-A-Boomerang" is a song by ABBA, first released by Svenne & Lotta. The track was first recorded as a demo with English lyrics in September 1974 by the ABBA musicians for their forthcoming eponymous album ABBA. The song was written by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Stig Anderson and at one point had the working title "Stop and Listen to Your Heart". The lyrics compare the "message of love" with the returning boomerangs which the Australian Aborigines developed.

"Det vackraste" is a Swedish love song. It was originally sung by Swedish pop singer Cecilia Vennersten and finished second in the Melodifestivalen 1995, the Swedish selections for Eurovision Song Contest. The song was released as a single and stayed 47 weeks in the Swedish singles chart total, including seven weeks at number-one. It also stayed at Svensktoppen for 26 weeks during the period 29 April-21 October 1995, with 3rd place as best result there. The song was awarded a Swedish Grammy Award, Grammis, for Best Song of 1995. In Norway, "Det vackraste" peaked at number 2.

Främling (song)

"Främling" ("Stranger"), written by Lasse Holm and Monica Forsberg and arranged by Lennart Sjöholm, was the song performed by the 16-year-old Carola Häggkvist which won the Swedish Melodifestivalen 1983.

Sonja Aldén Swedish singer (born 1977)

Sonja Aldén is a Swedish singer mostly famous for her 2006, 2007, 2012 and 2020 Melodifestivalen entries, and for working together with Shirley Clamp and Sanna Nielsen, as well as her songwriting for other artists. For example, the hard rock/heavy metal band The Poodles, who also participated in the Swedish Melodifestivalen 2006 with the song "Night of Passion". As a student she attended the Adolf Fredrik's Music School in Stockholm.

Östen Warnerbring

Östen Warnerbring, also known as Östen med Rösten, was a Swedish singer, musician, composer and lyrics writer who mastered several musical genres. He started out as a jazz musician but over the years, he became known as a singer of other popular music, such as schlager music, and of Swedish poetry put into music by himself. In the 1970s, he became one of the first Swedish artists to use his native accent, of the province of Scania (Skåne) in the south of Sweden, also while singing.

"Dansa i neon" is a Swedish language song, sung by Swedish pop singer Lena Philipsson and finishing 5th at the Swedish Melodifestivalen 1987. "Dance in the Neon Light" is an English version of the Swedish language song. Dansa i neon was written by Tim Norell, Peo Thyrén and Ola Håkansson, and was first meant to have been performed by Lili & Susie. Ola Håkansson proposed that, but Sveriges Television said no.

"Lena Anthem" is a song by Swedish singer Lena Philipsson from her ninth studio album Det gör ont en stund på natten men inget på dan (2004). It was released as the album's third single on 11 October 2004 through Columbia and Sony Music. Written by Thomas "Orup" Eriksson and produced by Anders Hansson, "Lena Anthem" is a disco song with synthesizer instrumentation and interpolations of Philipsson's 1987 single "Dansa i neon". Lyrically, the song contains exaggerated and tongue-in-cheek statements that proclaim her greater than her rivals.

Sweden participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Kiev, Ukraine. The Swedish entry was selected through Lilla Melodifestivalen 2013 which consisted of eight songs. The final was held on 6 June 2013 at the Gröna Lund amusement park in Stockholm. Eliias and his song "Det är dit vi ska" was chosen as the winner.
