Scorpio was an Iranian rock band formed in 1971 in Tehran. Early members of the band were Bahram Salmasi (Bass Guitar) Bijan Alimohammadi (Lead guitar) Farrokh Mohaghegh (Rhythm guitar ) and Masih Mohaghegh (Drum). Until the dissolution, Bahram Salmasi was the only Scorpio member who was in that member until the group was disbanded. The band was known for covering songs like Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da and Gloria. [1] [2] In 2010 a documentary called "Scorpio" was made about this group. [3] [4] Scorpio was dissolved in 1975 due to members leaving. According to Ebrahim Nabavi (author of Underground Vocals):"The pop was rising in Iran in the 1970s and it was making rock music fade, so Scorpio disintegrated and its members became members of pop groups." [5]

Iranian rock

Iranian rock refers to rock music produced by Iranian artists. Rock music has been popular in Iran since the late forties, with the emergence of singers such as Kourosh Yaghmaei, Farhad Mehrad, Fereydoon Foroughi and Habib Mohebian, but was largely forgotten after the Cultural Revolution. Like most rock styles, electric guitar and bass guitar and drums are the main instruments in this type of music. In some groups, the keyboard also has the task of adjusting the rhythms and symbols.

Crows in the Rain Iranian band

Crows in the Rain is an Iranian post-rock band which was formed in Tehran in 2014. It is among the first post-rock bands in Iran. After their first album was released, they became popular as the first Iranian ambient post-rock band. They were also known as “The Crows”. The band's music is a blend of post-rock and neo-classical style. Indeed, the core of the band consists of Masih Taj, Hamed Fahimi Jou, Ashkan Karimi, who had been intimate friends for many years before the band was formed. One of the characteristics of Crows In The Rain is that the lead guitar and rhythm guitar are swirling in a different way between Masih Taj and Hamed Fahimi Ju.

Golden Ring was an Iranian rock band. This group was one of the major groups in Tehran Sound. Golden Ring was the first Iranian rock garage band. In the early 1960s, many bits started operating in Iran. Groups such as Black Cats, The Robles and Scorpio often copied European works. The only band that originally released original works that used Persian songs and Iranian rhythm was the Golden Ring band. The Golden Ring was the first destination for the famous Iranian pop singer Aref. Golden Ring was eventually dissolved in 1975 due to low reception.

Basement music is a book by Ebrahim Nabavi, published in 2014. This book deals with the history of Iranian rock music from the 1960s to the present day. In writing this book, Nabavi has read more than 100 newspapers and articles on rock music before the Iranian Revolution. He said in the introduction to the book: "Finding the source for this book was difficult, but thanks to the Scorpio documentary, we gained a lot of information. This book has comprehensive and credible information on Iranian rock music. Parts of the book are about rap and heavy metal in Iran.

Parviz Maghsadi band

Parviz Maghsadi band was an Iranian rock band. The group was formed by renowned Iranian composer Parviz Maghsadi to discover new talents. He was able to introduce talents like Dariush Eghbali and Afshin Moghaddam into the music world. Parviz Maghsadi band was the first band to introduce Mandolin to Iranian music. Quiet rhythms, mandolin solos, symphonies and love poems were instrumental in determining the band's music. The band's activities lasted only three years. The band performed new rhythms in Iranian music that later became very influential. Although they never achieved much success, famous and important Iranian pop singers such as Afshin Moghaddam and Dariush Eghbali started With this group.

"The Past" is a song by Afshin Moghadam, composed by the Super Five, sung by the Parviz Maghsadi band and included in the bells album. This song is one of the first samples of Iranian hard rock. Afshin Moghaddam later covered the song in his album, Zemestoon.

"Zemestoon" (Winter) (Persian:زمستون) is a song written by Jahanbakhsh Pazouki, composed by Cheshm Azar Group, and sung by Afshin Moghaddam on his first album of the same name. Zemestoon is regarded as Moghaddam's most famous song, though he only performed it live once, two months before his death.

Iranian Heavy Metal is a subset of Iranian rock. The genre originated in Iran in the late 1970s and gained much popularity after the Iranian Revolution. Many heavy metal Subgenres, such as death metal, are known in Iran thanks to rock and metal festivals in neighboring countries like Georgia. Heavy metal has been widely introduced into Iranian music since the Iran-Iraq War. Iranian heavy metal is heavily influenced by American metal. Heavy metal is still banned in Iran, and the ban has become more severe in recent years as heavy metal has become a symbol of underground musicians in Iran.

Ice Flower is the debut album by Iranian rock singer Kourosh Yaghmaei. It was released on 6 September 1974 in the Iran by Arvin Cassett. The album is notable for featuring "Ice Flower", which has been described as the Kourosh Yaghmaei's signature song. Kourosh Yaghmaei ran into many obstacles to publishing Ice Flower, and all the expenses for the album were paid for by him and his brother Kamran.

Sarabe To is a song by the Iranian rock singer Kourosh Yaghmaei from 1974 album Ice Flower and It was written by Mehdi Akhavan Langroodi. Following the album's release, the song in 1977 was issued as a single in Iran. Mehdi Akhavan Langroodi wrote the song on a trip to Spain. During the recording of the song, Langroodi reminded Yaghmaei how to sing song. Langroodi interference and perfectionism prevented Yaghmaei from collaborating with him, Yaghmaei holding the recording sessions secret.

"Entezar" is a song composed by Kourosh Yaghmaei with lyrics by Kamran Yaghmaei and Kourosh Yaghmaei. Released on February 23, 1975, the single was an immediate critical and commercial hit, topping record charts in the Iran and Turkey. The song has gained considerable popularity throughout Iran with the innovation of playing the electric guitar in Iranian style and the episodic structure. "Entezar" later became widely acclaimed as one of the finest and most important works of the Iranian rock in 70s era.

"Michel" is a song by the Iranian rock singer Kourosh Yaghmaei from 1975 album Ice Flower and It was written by Zoya Zakarian. The song started recording in 1973 with the sound of Fereydoon Foroughi, but after some time Foroughi stopped singing of The song. 1974 Kourosh Yaghmaei became interested in singing the song but failed to put it on the album Ice Flower. In 1975, Yaghmaei recorded the song under the new name "Man Without a Way" and put it on Parandeye Mohajer album.
