Alexander City, known to locals as "Alex City", is the largest city in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, United States, with a population of 14,843 as of the 2020 census. It has been the largest community in Tallapoosa County since 1910. It is known for Lake Martin with its 750 miles (1,210 km) of wooded shoreline and 44,000 acres (18,000 ha) of water. Lake Martin stands on the Tallapoosa River and offers boating, swimming, fishing, golfing, and camping. Many neighborhoods and luxury homes are located on the lake.

He was selected in the first round of the 2014 NBA draft with the 13th overall pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves. A two-time Slam Dunk Contest champion, he was named an NBA All-Star in 2021 and 2022. He also won a gold medal on the 2020 U.S. Olympic team in Tokyo.

Melvin Lane Vines was an American football player and coach. He was a high school football head coach for 28 seasons in the state of Alabama during the years from 1930-1941 and 1944, 1946 and 1948-1961 where he compiled a record of 135-101-21. Vines also served as the head football coach at the University of Tampa in 1942. As a college football player, he was a member of two national championship teams at the University of Alabama where he played on the first Southern teams to compete in The Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
Scott Wayne Barnes Jr. is an American professional basketball player for the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Florida State Seminoles, earning third-team all-conference honors in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) as a freshman in 2021 and was selected with the fourth overall pick by the Raptors in the 2021 NBA draft. Barnes was named the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2022. In 2024, Barnes was named to the 2024 NBA All-Star Game, which was his first All-Star appearance.
Russell County High School (RCHS) is a rural Title I public high school located in Seale, Alabama, United States, offering grades 9 through 12. The school enrolls 1,004 students in total and is the only high school in the Russell County School District. The student body consists of 43% Caucasian, 47% African American, and 10% other ethnicities.
