Air Vice-Marshal Anthony Sean Corbett, CB MBE is a retired senior Royal Air Force officer.

RAF career

Educated at Keele University where he studied geography and biology, [1] Corbett joined the RAF in the Photographic Interpretation Branch in 1988. [2] He was deployed on operational service during the Gulf War in 1990, the Bosnian War in the mid-1990s and the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999 as well as the Iraq War in 2005. [3] He went on to be Commander of the Joint Service Signals Organisation at RAF Digby in 2006, Principal Staff Officer to the Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe at SHAPE in 2008 and Chief of UK Intelligence in Afghanistan in June 2010. [3]

After that Corbett became Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff (Intelligence) at Permanent Joint Headquarters in March 2011, Deputy UK Military Representative to NATO and Chief of Staff of the UK Delegation in October 2011 and Assistant Chief of Staff (Intelligence) at Permanent Joint Headquarters in 2014. [4] His last post was as Deputy Director for Commonwealth Integration at the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington, D.C. in September 2016 before retiring in September 2018. [4]

Corbett was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire in the 2000 New Year Honours [5] and an Companion of the Order of the Bath in the 2018 Birthday Honours. [6]

Glenn Torpy

Air Chief Marshal Sir Glenn Lester Torpy, is a retired senior Royal Air Force commander. He was a fast jet pilot in the late 1970s and 1980s, saw active service during the Gulf War and then went on to higher command. He was the air component commander on Operation Telic and served as Chief of the Air Staff, the professional head of the RAF, from 2006 to 2009. In that role Torpy hosted the RAF's biggest air display in two decades, and argued for consolidation of all British air power in the hands of the RAF.

William Dickson (RAF officer)

Marshal of the Royal Air Force Sir William Forster Dickson, was a Royal Naval Air Service aviator during the First World War, a senior officer in the Royal Air Force during the inter-war years and a Royal Air Force commander during and after the Second World War. Dickson was Chief of the Air Staff in the mid-1950s, in which role his main preoccupation was the establishment of the V Force and the necessary supporting weapons, airfields and personnel. He also served as the first Chief of the Defence Staff in the late 1950s.

Air Marshal David Walker, is a retired senior Royal Air Force officer. He was the Deputy Commander, Allied Joint Force Command at Brunssum in the Netherlands from 2011 to 2013, having previously served for over three years as Deputy Commander, Allied Air Component Command at Ramstein in Germany. Prior to that appointment he was Air Officer Commanding No. 1 Group in the United Kingdom.

Stuart Peach Royal Air Force officer

Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart William Peach, is a former senior Royal Air Force officer. After training as a navigator, Peach commanded IX (Bomber) Squadron and then became Deputy Station Commander RAF Bruggen. He was deployed as NATO Air Commander (Forward) in Kosovo in 2000. He went on to be Chief of Defence Intelligence in 2006, Chief of Joint Operations in 2009 and the first Commander of Joint Forces Command in December 2011 before being appointed Vice-Chief of the Defence Staff in May 2013. Peach succeeded General Sir Nick Houghton as Chief of the Defence Staff on 14 July 2016. He succeeded General Petr Pavel as Chairman of the NATO Military Committee on 29 June 2018, serving as such until his retirement in June 2021.

Stuart Atha

Air Marshal Sir Stuart David Atha, is a former senior officer of the Royal Air Force. He led No. 3 (Fighter) Squadron from 2000 to 2004, which included deployment to Iraq on Operation Telic, commanded RAF Coningsby (2006–08), No. 83 Expeditionary Air Group (2009–10) and No. 1 Group (2011–14), and served as the Air Component Commander for security during the 2012 London Olympics. Atha was Deputy Commander Operations from 2016 to 2019.

Chris Harper (RAF officer)

Air Marshal Sir Christopher Nigel Harper, is a senior Royal Air Force officer, who served as the UK Military Representative to NATO and the European Union from 2011 to 2013 and as Director General of the NATO International Military Staff from 2013 to 2016. He was previously Deputy Commander Allied Joint Force Command at Brunssum in the Netherlands (2009–11), and Air Officer Commanding No. 1 Group in the UK (2007–09).

Andrew Pulford

Air Chief Marshal Sir Andrew Douglas Pulford, is a retired senior Royal Air Force (RAF) commander. A helicopter pilot with operational service in Northern Ireland, the Falklands War and Iraq War, Pulford commanded RAF Odiham and No. 2 Group, and served as Assistant Chief of Defence Staff Operations, before taking up the post of Deputy Commander-in-Chief Personnel at Air Command and Air Member for Personnel in 2010. He became Chief of the Air Staff on 31 July 2013, retiring from the Royal Air Force on 12 July 2016.

Martin Smith (Royal Marines officer)

Major General Martin Linn Smith, is a former senior Royal Marines officer who served as Commandant General Royal Marines from 2014 to 2016. He was previously commander of 3 Commando Brigade, and before that Commanding Officer of 30 Commando Information Exploitation Group and Deputy Commander of 3 Commando Brigade. Smith is currently a non-executive adviser of Texo Group.

Air Vice-Marshal Cecil Thomas (Ginger) Weir, was an officer in the Royal Air Force. During the Second World War he served in RAF Bomber Command. He was taken prisoner after his aircraft was hit by a bomb from another aircraft during a raid on the Osnabruck Canal in November 1944 and was imprisoned in Stalag Luft I. He was in charge of the Operation Buffalo British nuclear tests at Maralinga in Australia in 1956, and air task group commander for the Operation Grapple nuclear tests at Christmas Island in 1957. In 1963 he became the first commandant of the Joint Warfare Establishment.
