Sean Thomas Hopper is an American musician, playing keyboards. He is a founding member of the American rock band Huey Lewis and the News.

Sean has played in bands since the eight grade, his first band being the ‘Round the Bend Blues Band’.[ citation needed ] Prior to HLATN, he and frontman Huey Lewis were members of the band Clover. The two eventually formed Huey Lewis and the News in 1979.
The News' sound draws upon early pop, rnb, doo-wop, blue-eyed soul and new wave. [2] [3] [4] They had many top ten hits in the 1980s, including "Do You Believe in Love", "Heart and Soul", "I Want a New Drug", "The Heart of Rock & Roll", "If This Is It", "Hip to Be Square", "I Know What I Like", "Doing It All for My Baby" and "Perfect World".
Hopper was in USA For Africa, and sang in the chorus for the charity single We Are the World. As of 2024, Hopper is still an active member of Huey Lewis and the News.
Hopper has used a Roland Jupiter-8, Yamaha DX7, Roland D-50, Roland Juno-60, Hohner Clavinet D6, Vox Continental, and Yamaha CP-80 Electric Grand Piano during his career. [5]

As lead singer Huey Lewis explained, "the public isn't clamoring for new Huey Lewis & the News material". Brown and the band decided "it would be cooler to go into the [Stax] catalog a little deeper and find songs that people hadn't heard and capture them faithfully". This album features new guitarists Stef Burns and Bill Hinds and baritone saxophonist Johnnie Bamont, replacing Chris Hayes and the late Ron Stallings.
