Sean Lee Murphy [1] is a retired United States Air Force major general who last served as the Deputy Surgeon General of the United States Air Force. Previously, he was the Command Surgeon of the Air Combat Command. [2] [3] [4] [5] Raised in Oxon Hill, Maryland, [1] Murphy graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1981 with a B.S. degree in biology. He then went on to earn his M.D. degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in 1985 and to complete his residency in pediatrics at the Air Force Medical Center at Keesler Air Force Base in 1988. Kevin Patrick "Chilli" Chilton is an American mechanical engineer and retired United States Air Force four-star general, test pilot, and NASA astronaut. His last assignment was as commander of U.S. Strategic Command from October 3, 2007, to January 28, 2011. Prior to his appointment to general officer ranks, Chilton spent 11 years of his military career as a NASA astronaut. He retired from the Air Force on February 1, 2011, after having achieved the highest rank of any military astronaut. On January 30, 2012, General Chilton was named to the board of directors of Orbital Sciences Corporation.
The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) is a graduate school and provider of professional and continuing education for the United States Armed Forces and is part of the United States Air Force. It is in Ohio at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, near Dayton. AFIT is a component of the Air University and Air Education and Training Command.
The superintendent of the United States Air Force Academy is the senior officer and commander of the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The position is normally held by an active duty Air Force lieutenant general, and is roughly equivalent to the president of a university. Because the Academy is a Direct Reporting Unit, the superintendent reports directly to the Air Force Chief of Staff. The superintendent oversees all aspects of the Academy, including military training, academics, athletics, admissions and the base infrastructure.
Bennie Luke Davis was a United States Air Force general who served as the commander-in-chief of Strategic Air Command, and as the director of Joint Strategic Target Planning Staff, with its headquarters at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. The command was the major American nuclear deterrent force with bombers, tankers, reconnaissance aircraft and intercontinental ballistic missiles. The Joint Strategic Target Planning Staff coordinated United States nuclear war plans and develops the Single Integrated Operational Plan.
The United States Military Training Mission (USMTM) to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a Security Assistance Organization (SAO) which manages and is primarily funded by Foreign Military Sales (FMS) cases between the United States Government and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. USMTM was the result of a meeting between King Abdul Aziz and United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt at Great Bitter Lake.
Phillip S. Meilinger is a retired colonel of the USAF as well as a historian and analyst. He is a member of the Academic Advisory Panel of the Royal Air Force Centre for Air Power Studies. Before his retirement he was Dean of the School of Advanced Airpower Studies (SAAS) at the USAF's Air University in Montgomery, Alabama. He received a BS degree from the United States Air Force Academy, an MA degree from the University of Colorado, and obtained a PhD degree in military history from the University of Michigan. A command pilot, he has served as a C-130 aircraft commander and instructor pilot in both Europe and the Pacific. After a tour at the Air Force Academy, he was assigned to the Doctrine Division of the Air Staff at the Pentagon. He has authored four books and scores of articles. Perhaps best known is his edited work, The Paths of Heaven: The Evolution of Airpower Theory (1997). In an attempt to create debate and more reflection about the inherent characteristics of air power, in 1995 Dr Meiling wrote Ten Propositions on Airpower, a small and influential booklet advocating what he considers to be the air power equivalent of Principles of War. Timothy Michael Ray is a retired United States Air Force general who last served as the commander of Air Force Global Strike Command from August 21, 2018, to August 27, 2021. He concurrently served as the commander of Air Forces Strategic – Air, United States Strategic Command. His two previous assignments were as the Deputy Commander, United States European Command, and as the Commander, Third Air Force. He previously served as the director of global power programs in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Headquarters United States Air Force, Washington, D.C.
Mark A. Ediger is a retired lieutenant general in the United States Air Force who was the twenty-second Surgeon General of the United States Air Force. Prior to that he served as the Deputy Surgeon General.
Aerospace Data Facility-Colorado (ADF-C) or Space Delta 20 one of three satellite ground stations operated by the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and United States Space Force in the continental United States. Located within Buckley Space Force Base in Aurora, Colorado, the facility is responsible for the command and control of reconnaissance satellites involved in the collection of intelligence information and for the dissemination of that intelligence to other U.S. government agencies.
Nadja Yudith West is a retired United States Army lieutenant general and the 44th Surgeon General of the United States Army and former Commanding General of the United States Army Medical Command. West, a physician, was the first black Army Surgeon General, and was the first black female active-duty major general and the first black female major general in Army Medicine. West is also the first Army black female lieutenant general. She is the highest ranking woman to have graduated from the United States Military Academy.
Dorothy A. Hogg is a retired lieutenant general of the United States Air Force who last served as the twenty-third Surgeon General of the United States Air Force and the first Surgeon General of the United States Space Force. Hogg serves as functional manager of the U.S. Air Force Medical Service. In this capacity, she advises the Secretary of the Air Force and Air Force Chief of Staff, as well as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs on matters pertaining to the medical aspects of the air expeditionary force and the health of Airmen.
Thomas Biamore Bruton was a major general in the United States Air Force. He was the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General from 1980 to 1985. Born in Texas and raised in Colorado, he graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1947. Bruton holds a B.S. degree in business from the University of Colorado Boulder, a law degree from the University of Colorado Law School (1954) and master's degrees from George Washington University (1966) and Auburn University (1971). General Bruton is also a graduate of the Air Command and Staff College (1965) and the Air War College (1971), both located at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala.
David Dean Thompson is a United States Space Force general who has served as the first vice chief of space operations since 2020. He previously served as the vice commander of the Space Force from 2018 to 2020.

Traci L. Kueker-Murphy is a United States Air Force brigadier general serving as the deputy director of strategy, plans, and policy of the United States Space Command. She previously served as the mobilization assistant to the deputy chief of space operations for operations, cyber, and nuclear of the United States Space Force. She has also served as the commander of the 310th Space Wing.
John J. DeGoes is a United States Air Force major general who serves as the deputy surgeon general of the United States Air Force. Prior to that, DeGoes most recently served as the commander of the 59th Medical Wing.
Albert M. "Buck" Elton II is a retired United States Air Force major general who last served as the commander of the Special Operations Joint Task Force–Afghanistan and NATO Special Operations Component Command–Afghanistan. Previously, he was the deputy director for special operations and counterterrorism of the Joint Staff. Raised in Lone Pine, California, Elton earned a B.S. degree in management from the United States Air Force Academy in 1989. He later received a Master of Aviation Science degree from Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University in 1996.
Steven Scott Nordhaus is a United States Air Force lieutenant general who has served as the commander of First Air Force since March 31, 2023. He most recently served as the Director of Operations of the National Guard Bureau from November 2019 to September 2022. Previously, he was the Commander of the Air National Guard Readiness Center from February 2017 to November 2019.
The commander of Space Operations Command is a lieutenant general who leads the field command that provide space forces to the United States Space Command and supports other unified combatant commands. A senior leader in the Space Force, it is only one of three field commanders and, of which, only one of two held by a lieutenant general.
