Sebastien Bellin (born May 14, 1978) is a Brazilian-Belgian former professional basketball player. [1] He has also been a part of the Belgian national basketball team in his career, he made his last appearance in 2010.

He was seriously injured at Brussels Airport during the 2016 Brussels bombings. [2] [3]

2016 Brussels bombings Islamic State suicide bombings in Belgium

The 2016 Brussels bombings was a coordinated terrorist attack in Brussels, Belgium, carried out by the Islamic State, on 22 March 2016. Three coordinated suicide bombings occurred: two at Brussels Airport in Zaventem, and one at Maalbeek metro station on the Brussels metro. Thirty-two civilians and three perpetrators were killed, and more than 300 people were injured. Another bomb was found during a search of the airport. A number of countries, national leaders and international organisations expressed comments or lit monuments in reaction to the 2016 Brussels bombings.

Osama Krayem, also known as Naïm or Naim al Hamed, is a Swedish national of Syrian origin and a suspected terrorist involved in the 2016 Brussels bombings. He was one of five men arrested on 8 April 2016 by the Belgian police.

The Brussels ISIL terror cell were a group accused of involvement in large-scale terrorist attacks in Paris in November 2015 and Brussels in early 2016, as well as other attacks against European targets. The terror cell is connected to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), a jihadist terrorist organisation primarily based in Syria and Iraq.

On 5 October 2016, three police officers were attacked by a man wielding a machete in the Schaerbeek neighborhood of Brussels, Belgium. Two of them suffered stab wounds, while the third was physically assaulted but otherwise uninjured. The suspected assailant, a Belgian citizen named Hicham Diop, was apprehended and charged with attempted terrorism-related murder and participating in a terrorist group.
