Selim Isa Pacolli (born 21 September 1969) is a Kosovo politician of Albanian nationality (ethnic nationality) who serves as the Deputy Mayor of Pristina since 27 December 2017. [1] Pacolli,from 2011 to 2018 was the General Director of Swiss Diamond Prishtina.
Selim Pacolli was born in the village of Marec,near Pristina where he spent his entire childhood and completed primary education. He graduated from Xhevdet Doda High School and then completed studies on economics. Shortly after,in the beginning of 90's amid political crisis in Kosovo,Selim managed to get engaged in managerial duties inside and outside the country.
As an economist,at an early age,Pacolli took the responsibility of managing and directing Mabetex Project Engineering,where he served as General Director from 1992 to 2004. In 2005 he was appointed as the head of ATV Media Group and directed Lajm newspaper,which quickly gained national attention and trust while Selim Pacolli was the Director due to investigative journalism,courage and critical approach. 2011 would mark the start of another success story with Swiss Diamond Prishtina's opening in the heart of the capital. The five-star hotel,with Pacolli as Director turned into a reference point and today it's perceived as a symbol of Pristina in modern days. In 2014,the Hotel was chosen as 'Best Business Hotel' in Kosovo by 'Business Destination Travel Awards'. [2]
Selim Pacolli was 29 years old when he returned in Kosovo and joined the Kosovo Liberation Army as a soldier in Gollak zone. [3]
Selim Pacolli got involved in politics at the age of 22 by joining in the structures of Democratic League of Kosovo's fifth branch in Pristina. He contributed in the Youth Forum during the difficult times of 90's in Kosovo while also remained a LDK member after the Kosovo War ended. In 2007,New Kosovo Alliance was formed and a year after,Pacolli was appointed as Secretary of the party. His time in the duty from 2008-2010 is still remembered for the massive work done within the party structure. Due to different circumstances and commitments,Selim halted his political activity in 2010.
In August 2017,he returned in politics by joining the race for Pristina's mayor. With a very positive campaign which was considered by many as the best and the most creative in years,Pacolli managed to get ranked as the third most voted candidate in the first round. For New Kosovo Alliance,Pacolli's performance marked the most successful one a party candidate had in Pristina since 2009. In the second round,Pacolli publicly supported Shpend Ahmeti which won his second term as the Mayor of Pristina. [4] On 27 December,Selim Pacolli was appointed as Deputy Mayor of the capital. [5]
Selim Pacolli is married and a father of three;Fatbardha,Fatlume and Fisnik. Pacolli is the brother of politician and business man Behgjet Pacolli. He speaks three foreign languages;English,Croatian and Italian.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo is one of the largest political parties in Kosovo. It was originally a social-democratic party coming out of the demilitarised Kosovo Liberation Army after the Kosovo War,with most of the leadership coming from Albanian nationalists and former members of the People's Movement of Kosovo. However,during its congress in January 2013,it positioned itself as a centre-right party and is considered to be a conservative party. The Grand Hotel Prishtina is a hotel situated in the Mother Theresa Boulevard in downtown Pristina,the capital of Kosovo. Originally projected by the Kosovar architect Bekim Fehmiu together with the two Serbian architect Dragan Kovačevićand Miša Jevremović,its building started in 1974 and ended in 1978. It contains over a 350 rooms spread out in 13 floors and it has over 32.000m²,but today only 1% of the rooms in Grand Hotel are used for visitors.

Pacolli is a former president of Kosovo,and served as the first deputy prime minister of Kosovo between 2011 and 2014. Pacolli was one of the signatories of the 2008 Kosovo declaration of independence.

Shpend Ali Ahmeti is a Kosovo Albanian politician who served as the mayor of Pristina. He was leader of the New Spirit Party,which merged into Vetëvendosje in 2011,and served as their vice chairman. However,after internal disputes he left the party in 2018 to become the leader of the Social Democratic Party of Kosovo. In 2019 he became an independent politician.

Dardan Sejdiu is a Kosovo Albanian politician. He served as the leader of the parliamentary group of Social Democratic Party of Kosovo in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo. He also served as Deputy Mayor of Prishtina as a member of the capital of the Kosovo between 2014 and 2017,being a member of Vetëvendosje at the time. Previously,he has been engaged for four years as president of the management board of the Slovenian-Kosovo Pension with a key role in managing this fund for the whole of Kosovo. Sejdiu was a member of Vetevendosje from 2011 to 2018.
KFF Hajvalia,commonly known as Hajvalia was a women's football club based in village Hajvalia of Pristina,Kosovo that folded in summer 2018. It is the women's section of KF Hajvalia. The club last played in the Kosovo Women's Football League,which is the top tier of football in the country.
The PANA coalition was a ruling post-electoral Kosovan political alliance between four major Albanian and six ethnic minority parties in Kosovo. Its formation ended three months of political uncertainty following the 2017 parliamentary election. It was founded originally as PAN coalition.
Municipal elections to elect the mayor and Municipal Assembly were held in Pristina on 17 October 2021,with a second round of the mayoral election on 14 November. The elections came just nine months after parliamentary elections which saw Vetëvendosje win by a landslide. Përparim Rama of the Democratic League of Kosovo won the mayoral election,narrowly defeating Vetëvendosje's Arben Vitia,the Minister of Health. by around 1,600 votes.
