The Yusufzai or Yousafzai,also referred to as the Esapzai,or Yusufzai Afghans historically,are one of the largest tribes of Pashtuns. They are natively based in the northern part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,to which they migrated from Kabul during the 16th century,but they are also present in parts of Afghanistan,including Kunar,Kabul,Kandahar and Farah. Outside of these countries,they can be found in Ghoriwala District Bannu,Balochistan Sibi (Akazai),Chagai (Hassanzai) and Rohilkandh.
The Wazirs or Waziris are an ethnic Afghan Karlani Pashtun tribe found mainly in the Pakistan-Afghanistan border region. The Utmanzai Wazir are settled in the North Waziristan and Bannu Subdivision Wazir and the Ahmadzai Wazir are in the South Waziristan,and in Domel,Bannu. Those subgroups are in turn divided further,for example into Utmanzai tribes such as the Baka Khel and Jani Khel. The Wazirs speak the Waziristani dialect of Pashto which is similar to the neighboring Banuchi and Dawari dialect but still distinct.
Shaukat Ali Yousafzai is a Pakistani politician who had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from May 2013 till January 2023. He also served as a member of the 10th Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,representing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and as Minister for Health and Information Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Pervez Khattak administration. He also serves as the Secretary General of PTI’s provincial chapter of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and previously has served as the political advisor to Imran Khan.
Shah Farman is a Pakistani politician from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He served as the 32nd Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from 5 September 2018 to 16 April 2022. Previously,he was a member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly from May 2013 to May 2018,and again from August 2018 to September 2018.

Shakeel Ahmad is a Pakistani politician who was the Provincial Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Revenue,in office from 29 August 2018 till 26 January 2020. He also served as Provincial Minister for Communication &Works in the 2024 Gandapur ministry but resigned over controversy in August 2024.
Fazal Hakim Khan is a Pakistani politician hailing from Swat District,who is currently a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 2024,and prior to that from August 2018 till January 2023. He also served as member of the 10th Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from 2013 to 2018,belonging to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He also served as member of the different committees. He is a member of PTI and is currently serving as Provincial Minister of Livestock and Fisheries for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Gandapur ministry. As minister,he stated that he would prioritize developing the livestock sector.
Syed Muhammad Ishtiaq Urmar is a Pakistani politician from Peshawar who was a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from May 2013 to May 2018 and from August 2018 to January 2023.

On 22 July 2018,3 days before general elections,a suicide bomber blew himself near the vehicle of former KPK provincial minister of Agriculture Ikramullah Khan Gandapur in Kulachi,Dera Ismail Khan District,Pakistan. The prime target of attack,Gandapur was brought to Dera Ismail Khan in critical condition where he succumbed to his wounds. Apart from Gandapur,his driver and one of his guards was also killed and three more people were injured. Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the assault describing Gandapur's killing of their colleague militants as the motive. The attack was widely condemned across Pakistan.

Zartaj Gul is a Pakistani politician who served as Minister of State for Climate Change,in Imran Khan ministry from 5 October 2018 until 10 April 2022 when Imran Khan was ousted by a no-confidence motion. She remained a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan between August 2018 and January 2023,and again from 29 February 2024 from Constituency NA-185 Dera Ghazi Khan-II she was elected from Constituency in 2024 Pakistani General Elections held on 8th February 2024.
Pakhtoon Yar Khan is a Pakistani politician from Bannu who is currently serving as Provincial Minister of Public Health Engineering for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Gandapur ministry. He is a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and is a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 28 February 2024. Prior to this he was a member of the assembly from August 2018 to January 2023. His father,Attaullah Jan,was also a seasoned politician.
Muhammad Salman Naeem is a Pakistani politician currently serving as a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from 23 February 2024 to present. He has been a member of the Punjab Assembly for the first time after defeating Pakistan's senior politician Shah Mehmood Qureshi as an independent candidate in the general elections 2018.
Ajmal Khan Wazir is a Pakistani politician and former advisor to Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations. He had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from August 2019 to January 2023. He joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on 18 July 2018. He was part of the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) before joining the PTI. He hails from South Waziristan,Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Wazir previously served as the adviser to the Chief Minister on Merged Districts.
Muhammad Khalid Khurshid Khan is a politician who served as the President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Gilgit-Baltistan from May 2022 to December 2023 and as the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan,a territory in Northern Pakistan until he was disqualified from his post on 4 July 2023 by the Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Court. He was also a member of the Gilgit Baltistan Assembly from 25 November 2020 until his disqualification.
General elections were held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday,25 July 2018 to elect the 51 members of 15th National Assembly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) obtained a landslide victory in the province by winning 37 general seats and increased their margin of victory from 2013. The PTI also won 8 out of 10 reserved seats while the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) and Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) won 1 reserved seat each.
PK-103 North Waziristan-I is a constituency for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It was created in 2018 after merger of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa before 2019 elections. This constituency covers Eastern parts of North Waziristan.
Adnan Wazir is a Pakistani politician from Bannu District who has been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since February 2024.
