The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is a political party in Pakistan. It was founded in 1996 by Pakistani cricketer-turned politician Imran Khan,who served as the country's prime minister from 2018 to 2022. The PTI is one of the three major Pakistani political parties alongside the Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML–N) and the Pakistan People's Party (PPP),and it is the largest party in terms of representation in the National Assembly of Pakistan since the 2018 general election. With over 10 million members in Pakistan and abroad,it claims to be the country's largest political party by primary membership,as well as one of the largest political parties in the world.
Arif-ur-Rehman Alvi is a Pakistani dentist currently serving as the 13th president of Pakistan,in office since 9 September 2018. He was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from June 2013 to May 2018 and again from August to September 2018.
General elections were held in Pakistan on Wednesday,25 July 2018 to elect the members of 15th National Assembly and the four Provincial Assemblies. The three major parties were Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by Imran Khan,the Pakistan Muslim League led by Shehbaz Sharif and the Pakistan Peoples Party led by Bilawal Bhutto. The PTI won the most seats in the National Assembly but fell short of a majority;the party subsequently formed a coalition government with several smaller parties. At the provincial level,the PTI remained the largest party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP);the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) retained its dominance in Sindh and the newly formed Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) emerged as the largest party in Balochistan. In Punjab,the result was a hung parliament with the Pakistan Muslim League (N) winning the most seats. However,after several independents MPAs joined the PTI,the latter became the largest party and was able to form a government.
Presidential elections were held on 30 July 2013 in Pakistan to elect the 12th President of Pakistan. Incumbent President Asif Ali Zardari’s term was scheduled to expire on 8 September 2013;and as such,Article 41 of the Constitution of Pakistan required the elections to be held no later than 8 August 2013. The Electoral College of Pakistan –a joint sitting of the Senate,National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies –were tasked with electing a new president to succeed President Zardari,who declined to seek a second term in office. After the Pakistan Peoples Party and its allies boycotted the presidential election,the two candidates were Mamnoon Hussain backed by the Pakistan Muslim League (N),and Wajihuddin Ahmed backed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Agra-born Hussain was elected president by a majority securing 432 votes. The elections were the first time in Pakistani history where a civilian president was elected while an incumbent civilian President was still in office,completing a historic and democratic transition of power that began with the 2013 General Elections.
Syed Ali Haider Zaidi is a Pakistani politician who served as the Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs from 11 September 2018 to 10 April 2022. He previously served as the President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Sindh chapter until he joined Jahangir Khan Tareen's Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) party. He has been previously also remained a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from August 2018 to January 2023.
Ramesh Kumar Vankwani is a Pakistani politician who had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan,from August 2018 till August 2023. But in 2022 he left PTI. Previously he was member of the National Assembly from June 2013 to May 2018 and a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from 2002 to 2007.
Presidential elections were held in Pakistan on 4 September 2018. The elections saw Arif Alvi of PTI being elected as the 13th President of Pakistan after defeating Fazal-ur-Rehman of MMA and Aitzaz Ahsan of PPP. Although the incumbent President Mamnoon Hussain,whose term was to expire on 9th September 2018,was eligible for re-election,he declined to take part.
The triennial Senate Electionsof Pakistan were held on 3 March 2018 to replace 52 retiring senators - half of the Senate's strength - with the winning candidates serving six-year terms. Overall,Pakistan Muslim League (N) came out as the largest party,followed by the Pakistan Peoples Party and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. The results of these elections were steeped in controversy due to rampant allegations of horse trading and vote-buying,which lead to the Prime Minister and opposition leader Imran Khan calling for reforms. Prior to this election,PML (N) candidates were declared as independents by the Election Commission of Pakistan owing to a Supreme Court judgment.
Saeed Ghani is a Pakistani politician who served as the Provincial Minister of Sindh for Labour and Information and Human Resources. He had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from August 2018 to August 2023. Previously,he was a member of Provincial Assembly of Sindh from July 2017 to May 2018 and a member of the Senate of Pakistan.
Khurrum Sher Zaman is a Pakistani politician who had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from August 2018 to August 2023. He was previously a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from May 2013 to May 2018.
Waseemuddin Qureshi is a Pakistani politician who had been a Member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh,from August 2018 to August 2023 and from May 2013 to May 2018.
Provincial elections were held in the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 25 July 2018 to elect the members of the 11th Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,alongside nationwide general elections and three other provincial elections in Sindh,Balochistan and Punjab. The remaining two territories of Pakistan,AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan,were ineligible to vote due to their disputed status.

Imran Ismail is a Pakistani businessman and politician He served as the 21st governor of Sindh from 27 August 2018 to 18 April 2022. Before being appointed Governor of Sindh,he was a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh for a brief period in August 2018.
Muhammad Aslam Abro is a Pakistani politician who had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from August 2018 till August 2023.
Haleem Adil Sheikh is a Pakistani politician who had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from August 2018 to August 2023,and had served as Leader of the Opposition of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from January 2021 to July 2023. Sheikh served as the parliamentary leader of PTI in Provincial Assembly of Sindh from August 2018 to January 2021,and was the president of PTI for Sindh from 21 July 2019 to 25 December 2021.
Syed Firdous Shamim Naqvi is a Pakistani politician who served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from 24 September 2018 to 8 January 2021. He had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from August 2018 to August 2023. He has served as a member of the Core Committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf since 1996. He has also served from 2015 to 2019 in the Karachi Municipal Corporation as Union Council Chairman for UC-18 Karachi East.
General elections are scheduled to be held in Pakistan on 8 February 2024 to elect the members of the 16th National Assembly. The detailed schedule was announced by Election Commission of Pakistan on 15 December 2023.
Provincial elections are scheduled to be held in Sindh on 8 February 2024 to elect a new provincial legislature. On 5 August 2023,after the approval of the results of the 2023 digital census by the Council of Common Interests headed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif,elections have been delayed for several months,as new delimitations will be published on 14 December 2023. On 2 November 2023,the Election Commission of Pakistan announced,in agreement with the President of Pakistan,Arif Alvi,that the elections will be held on 8 February 2024. This election will be held concurrently with nationwide general elections and other provincial elections.
