Silambarasan Thesingu Rajendar, nicknamed as Simbu or his initials S.T. R. and known as Little Super Star, is an Indian actor, filmmaker and musician in Tamil cinema. He is the eldest son of actor and director T. Rajendar. He began his acting career by playing roles as a child artist in films directed by his father, before his first lead role in his father's Kadhal Azhivathillai (2002).

Samar (transl. War) is a 2013 Indian Tamil-language mystery action-adventure film written and directed by Thiru. It stars Vishal, Trisha and Sunaina, with Manoj Bajpayee and J. D. Chakravarthy appearing in supporting roles. Richard M. Nathan handled the cinematography, while the film's soundtrack and score were composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and Dharan Kumar, respectively. Later on, it was dubbed in Hindi as Gabbar Sher in 2016. The story revolves around a trekking guide, who is forced to leave for Bangkok under strange circumstances and witnesses a series of puzzling incidents there. After several delays finally the film was released on 13 January 2013.

Uyire Uyire is a 2016 Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by A. Rajasekhar and produced by veteran actress Jaya Prada and former politician Amar Singh. The film, a remake of Vikram Kumar's 2012 Telugu film Ishq, stars Jaya Prada's nephew Siddhu and Hansika Motwani. The film was released on 1 April 2016 to mixed reviews from critics.
Puli is a 2015 Indian Tamil-language fantasy action adventure film written and directed by Chimbu Deven. The film stars Vijay in a dual role as demon prince, and his son a half-demon, alongside Shruti Haasan as the female lead. Hansika Motwani plays a supporting role. Sudeep features as the main antagonist of the film, along with Prabhu and Nandita Swetha in cameo roles. Sridevi features as the possessed evil Queen Yavanarani, as her comeback movie to the Kollywood industry and eventually marked her last Tamil film post her untimely demise in the year, 2018.
Kolamaavu Kokila is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language black comedy crime film written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar in his directorial debut, and produced by Lyca Productions. The film stars Nayanthara alongside a supporting cast including Yogi Babu, Saranya Ponvannan, VJ Jacqueline, R. S. Shivaji, Charles Vinoth, Hareesh Peradi and others. Anirudh Ravichander composed the film's music.

Nelson Dilipkumar, known mononymously as Nelson, is an Indian director and screenwriter who predominantly works in Tamil cinema. His films are primarily in the crime and action genres and are known for featuring elements of black humour. He directed the crime comedy Kolamaavu Kokila before working on the action comedies Doctor, Beast and Jailer.
