Shalini Passi (born 8 August 1975) is a Delhi based Art patron and collector. In 2024, she gained public attention through her appearance on Netflix's Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. [1]

Career

Passi has been a member of the Advisory Board of Khoj (a not-for-profit contemporary arts organisation based in Delhi). [2]

In 2018, Passi started The Shalini Passi Art Foundation, and MASH India. [3]

Passi held an exhibition called “The Warp and Weft of Perception” [4] and a solo art exhibition of paintings, “Through my Eyes”, at the Visual Arts Gallery in New Delhi.

Philanthropy

Passi supports the Delhi Society for the Welfare of Special Children. [5]

In 2021, Passi raised funds for Covid Relief India by organising an online exhibition. [6] [7]

Personal life

Passi is married to businessman Sanjay Passi, and they have a son, Robin.

Homai Vyarawalla, commonly known by her pseudonym Dalda 13, was India's first woman photojournalist. She began her career in 1938 working for the Bombay Chronicle, capturing images of daily life in the city. Vyarawalla worked for the British Information Services from the 1940s until 1970 when she retired. In 2011, she was awarded Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian award of the Republic of India. She was amongst the first women in India to join a mainstream publication when she joined The Illustrated Weekly of India. A pioneer in her field, Vyarawalla died at the age of 98. Google doodle honoured India's "First Lady of the lens" in 2017 with a tapestry of Indian life and history drawn by guest doodler Sameer Kulavoor.

Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives is an Indian reality television series. The show focuses on the personal and professional lives of Neelam Kothari, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavna Pandey and Seema Kiran Sajdeh, wives of Bollywood actors Samir Soni, Sanjay Kapoor, Chunky Pandey and Sohail Khan (divorced) respectively. The series debuted on 27 November 2020 on Netflix. A second season premiered on 2 September 2022.
