Shane Holsinger is a former American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) wide receiver who played for the Huntington Heroes in its debuting 2006 season.

Career history

Holsinger played football at the South Point High School in Ohio, where he described a constant change in coaches resulted in a lackluster performance. From there, Holsinger joined the men's basketball team at Eastern Kentucky University as a walk-on. [1]

While in college, Holsinger played as a guard for the 2002–2003 season. He was not selected by any team during or after the 2006 NBA draft. [2]

In 2006 when Huntington, West Virginia announced the formation of a new indoor football team, Holsinger decided to try football again despite not having played a single season of college football. Wide receiver coach Brent Wilcoxon was one of Holsinger's former high school coaches and was credited as being instrumental in Holsinger's successful transition from college basketball into professional football.

During the Heroes' debut season, Holsinger scored the team's highest number of receptions, yardage and touchdowns. In recognition of his performance, Holsinger was named to the 2006 AIFL Northern Conference ProStars Second Team [1]

Maurice "Mo" Purify is an American football coach and former wide receiver who is currently the wide receivers coach for College of the Redwoods. He was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2008. He played college football at Nebraska. Purify also played for the Georgia Force, Omaha Nighthawks, Arizona Rattlers, and San Jose SaberCats. Having scored over 150 touchdowns and over 6,000 receiving yards in his career, as well as winning four consecutive ArenaBowls with two teams, Purify is considered one of the best receivers in AFL history.

Kevin Guy is an arena football coach and former wide receiver and defensive back who is the head coach for the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League (IFL). He played his college football at the University of West Alabama, and was an AFL wide receiver and defensive back from 1996 to 1999. He has been a football coach since 2000, and first served as a head coach in 2000 as the interim head coach for the New Jersey Red Dogs. After being the defensive coordinator for the San Jose SaberCats from 2006 to 2007, he became the Rattlers head coach in 2008.

Adam DiMichele is an American football coach and former quarterback. He was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2009. He played college football at Temple. DiMichele was also a member of the Calgary Stampeders, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Erie Explosion and Philadelphia Soul.

Marvin McNutt, Jr. is a former American football wide receiver and current wide receivers coach at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He played college football for the Iowa Hawkeyes, where he became the all-time leader in receiving touchdowns and yardage. He was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL draft. McNutt was also the head coach of the Cedar Rapids Titans of the Indoor Football League (IFL) for the 2017 season, and the general manager in 2018.

Scott Pingel is an American former professional football wide receiver who holds multiple NCAA receiving records. He played college football at Westminster College. Pingel is the first player in NCAA history to accumulate over 2,000 receiving yards in a single season. Pingel is only one of two individuals to accomplish this feat. The 2,157 receiving yards Pingel totaled during the 1998 season remain an all-division NCAA single season record.

James "Jimmy" Skinner is an American football coach and former quarterback who played in the 2007 season of the American Indoor Football Association (AIFA).
