The Shanghai Trophy is an international skating competition held in Shanghai, China, and organized by the Chinese Skating Association. Skaters compete in short track speed skating, synchronized skating, or figure skating. The first event was held in 2016. [1]

The ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships (WSSC) are the world championships for the sport of synchronized skating. Held since 2000, the World Synchronized Skating Championships is an annual event organized by the International Skating Union and attracts the most elite senior-level synchronized skating teams from around the world to compete for the World Championship.

The figure skating season is the period of time in which competitions are contested in the sport of figure skating. The skating season begins on July 1 of one year and lasts until June 30 of the next year, thus spanning a full 12 months. The seasons are referred to by the years they span; for example, the 2017–18 figure skating season began in July 2017 and ended in June 2018.

The ISU Junior World Challenge Cup is an international synchronized skating competition that determines the best junior teams in the world. Held for the first time in 2001, the competition is sanctioned by International Skating Union. From 2013 to 2016, the event was held biennially in even-numbered years, after the 2013 launch of the World Junior Championships which was to be held in odd-numbered years. However, because the World Junior Championships has been held annually since 2017, there has not been any ISU Junior World Challenge Cup after 2016.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Team Paradise</span>

Team Paradise are a senior-level synchronized skating team representing Russia. Currently, they are ranked first in the world by the International Skating Union. They are three-times World Champions, they claimed the 2015 World Championships bronze medals, and they are the 1999-2017 Russian National Champions.

The ISU Challenger Series is a series of international figure skating competitions. Established by the International Skating Union in the 2014–15 season, it is a group of senior-level events ranked below the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Each event consists of at least three disciplines out of four, and is required to take place between August 1 and December 15.

The 2015–16 synchronized skating season began on July 1, 2015, and ended on June 30, 2016. During this season, which was concurrent with the season for the other four disciplines, elite synchronized skating teams competed on the International Skating Union (ISU) Championship level at the 2016 World Championships. They also competed at various other international as well as national competitions.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Yi Christy Leung</span> Hong Kong figure skater

Yi Christy Leung, also known as Liang Yi, is a Hong Kong figure skater. She has finished within the top twelve at three ISU Championships. She is the 2019 Chinese national champion.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Yang Yongchao</span> Chinese pair skater

Yang Yongchao is a Chinese pair skater who currently competes with Zhang Siyang. Together, they are the 2022 Chinese nationals pairs skating champions.

The 2016–17 synchronized skating season began on July 1, 2016, and ended on June 30, 2017. Running concurrent with the 2016-17 figure skating season. During this season elite synchronized skating teams competed on the ISU Championship level at the 2017 World Championships. They also competed at various other elite level international and national competitions.
