Shannon Durig is an American actress, singer, and dancer best known for portraying Tracy Turnblad in the Broadway production of the musical Hairspray , where she played over 1000 performances. [1]
She is from Overland Park, Kansas and graduated from Saint Thomas Aquinas High School. She trained at Miller Marley School of Dance and Voice in Overland Park and studied voice with Constance Ramos.[ citation needed ] She first became the understudy for Tracy and was promoted to the part a year later.
