Shannon Joan McGregor (born 7 December 1999) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a midfielder for Celtic and the Scotland national team. [3] [4]

She began her career at hometown club Aberdeen [5] before joining Hibernian in December 2017, aged 18. [6] [7] She won three trophies [8] and made well over 100 appearances for the Edinburgh club, [9] [10] also recovering from two serious ACL injuries, before joining Celtic in 2024. [11] [12]

She has represented Scotland at various youth levels. [5] [13] She received a first call-up to the senior squad in October 2024, [14] and made her full international debut that month in a Euro 2025 play-off against Hungary. [13]

Personal life

In June 2022, McGregor became engaged to Hibernian teammate Siobhan Hunter on holiday in Tenerife. [15] In January 2024, both were given a leave of absence by the club after Hunter's mother suffered serious injuries in an accidental fall, coincidentally also occurring in Tenerife. [16] [17]

Hibernian Football Club, commonly known as Hibs, is a professional football club in Edinburgh, Scotland. The team competes in the Scottish Premiership, the top division of Scottish football. The 2018–19 season was Hibernian's (Hibs) second season of play back in the top league of Scottish football, having been promoted from the Scottish Championship at the end of the 2016–17 season. Hibs also entered the Europa League, and progressed through two qualifying rounds before losing to Norwegian club Molde.
