Hartford is the capital city of the U.S. state of Connecticut. It was the seat of Hartford County until Connecticut disbanded county government in 1960. It is the largest city in the Capitol Planning Region,and core city of the Greater Hartford metropolitan area. Census estimates since the 2010 United States census have indicated that Hartford is the fourth-largest city in Connecticut with a 2020 population of 121,054,behind the coastal cities of Bridgeport,New Haven,and Stamford.

William H. Hall High School, also known as Hall High,is a four-year public high school located in West Hartford,in the U.S. state of Connecticut. Opened in 1924,it was named after William Henry Hall,who was a teacher,principal,and superintendent of schools in West Hartford. Huskies of Honor is a recognition program sponsored by the University of Connecticut (UConn). Similar to a hall of fame,it honors the most significant figures in the history of the UConn Huskies—the university's athletic teams—especially the men's and women's basketball teams. The inaugural honorees,inducted in two separate ceremonies during the 2006–07 season,included thirteen men's basketball players,ten women's basketball players,and four head coaches,of whom two coaches—Jim Calhoun and Geno Auriemma—and two players—Ray Allen and Rebecca Lobo—are also enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Since that time,an additional nine women's basketball players,seven men's basketball players,five national championship teams,one women's basketball assistant coach,and one athletic director have been honored.

Helen Margaret Feeney (1919–2004) was an American ecclesiastical administrator and member of the Sisters of St. Joseph who served as the first woman chancellor of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hartford (1986–1994). She was only the fifth woman to serve as chancellor of a US archdiocese. Feeney was named to the Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame in 1995.
Eileen Shanley Kraus was an American business executive who broke the glass ceiling to be the first woman to run a major bank in Connecticut. She was inducted into the Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame in 2002.
The 2022 Connecticut State Comptroller election took place on November 8,2022,to elect the next Connecticut State Comptroller. Incumbent Democrat Natalie Braswell was appointed to the position by Governor Ned Lamont after the resignation of Kevin Lembo. She did not seek a full term.
