Shariq Hassan (born 7 December 1994) is an Indian actor who predominantly appears in Tamil films and television shows. He played the role of villain in the 2016 film Pencil .

Personal life

Shariq Hassan was born on 7 December 1994, [1] in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He is the son of Indian actor Riyaz Khan and actress Uma Riyaz Khan. [2] [3] He attended A V Meiyappan Matriculation Higher Secondary School, completing his school at 12 grade and later graduated high school.[ citation needed ]

Career

Hassan debuted in the 2016 Tamil film Pencil in a villainous role. [4] Regarding his performance, several critics felt that he was one of the film's highlights. [5] [6] He made his television debut in 2018 when he joined the second season of Bigg Boss as a contestant; he was evicted from the show on the 49th day. [7] [8] In 2018, he signed up for the film Uggramm (still unreleased), [9] and in 2020 for Jigiri Dosthu , [10] [11] which released in December 2023. [12] [13] In 2021, Hassan participated in the dance competition BB Jodigal, which aired on Star Vijay, and his duet with Anitha Sampath won the show. [14] In 2022, he signed up for another film with Vishnu Vishal, Mohandas. [15] [16] In 2024, he starred in Netru Indha Neram as the lead. [17]

The season launched on 30 January 2022 with Kamal Haasan as a host, but he has exited the show from week 3 onwards, due to scheduling conflicts with his upcoming film Vikram. BB Jodigal or Bigg Boss Jodigal is an Indian Tamil-language reality television dance show, which premiered on 2 May 2021 and broadcast on Star Vijay and streamed on Disney+ Hotstar. Over two years, BB Jodigal has rolled out two seasons.

Netru Indha Neram is a 2024 Indian Tamil-language mystery thriller film written and directed by Sai Roshan K.R. The film stars Shariq Hassan and Haritha .The film was produced by K.R. Naveen Kumar under the banner of Clapin Filmotainment.
