Echo Bay Marine Provincial Park is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada, established in 1971 and containing 1.5 hectares. It is located at the bay of the same name, offshore from the community of the same name, which is the location of the Simoom Sound post office and is on the west side of Gilford Island.

Simoom Sound is a sound on the Central Coast of British Columbia, Canada, located on the east and north sides of the Wishart Peninsula between Tribune Channel and Kingcome Inlet. The former steamer landing, now classified as a "locality", and the post office of Simoom Sound, British Columbia, located in Echo Bay on Gilford Island, is named after the sound. Kawages Indian Reserve No. 4 is located on the north side of Simoom Sound and is a reserve of the Dzawada'enuxw First Nation of the Kwakwaka'wakw peoples.
The Tlowitsis Nation, formerly the Klowitsis Tribe, the Turnour Island Band and the Tlowitsis-Mumtagila First Nation, is the Indian Act band government of the Ławit'sis (Tlowitsis) tribe of the Kwakwaka'wakw peoples, located in the Queen Charlotte Strait-Johnstone Strait area in the Discovery Islands between Vancouver Island and the British Columbia mainland in Canada. Ławit'sis territory covers parts of northern Vancouver Island, Johnstone Strait, and adjoining inlets of the mainland. Kalugwis, on Turnour Island, was their principal community in times past, but the band's offices are in the city of Campbell River to the southeast. Hanatsa IR No. 6 on Port Neville is the most populated of the band's Indian reserves.
Havannah Channel is a marine passageway in the South Coast region of British Columbia, Canada, leading off of the north side of Johnstone Strait leading to Chatham Channel and Call Inlet, south of East Cracroft Island. Havannah Channel is entered from Johnstone Strait at the Broken Islands. Hull Island is located in the channel, to the southeast of East Cracroft and south of the opening of Call Inlet.
Tribune Channel is a channel or strait on the Central Coast of British Columbia, Canada, separating the north and east sides of Gilford Island from the mainland. The channel bends around the island's east side, with the mouth of Thompson Sound at the elbow of the bend, opening eastwards to the mouth of the Kakweiken River.
Bond Sound is a sound located on the northeast side of Tribune Channel in the Central Coast region of British Columbia. Bond Sound, with the head of Kingcome Inlet to its north, frames the Wishart Peninsula. Like other names in the area, it was named by Captain Pender in 1865, in association with other names in the area associated with HMS Tribune.

Gilford Island is to the north across Tribune Channel. Separating Turnour from West Cracroft is Clio Channel.
East Cracroft Island is an island in the Johnstone Strait region of the Central Coast region of British Columbia, Canada. It is the smaller of the two Cracroft Islands, and at low tide is really one island with its larger neighbour, West Cracroft Island. On the south side of the shallows that form an isthmus between them at low tide is Port Harvey, a short, wide inlet or bay. On its east shore is Keecekiltum Indian Reserve No. 2, which is under the governance of the Tlowitsis Nation of the Kwakwaka'wakw peoples. at 50°33′00″N126°16′00″W.

Memkumlis or, officially Meem Quam Leese, Memkoomlish, Memqumlis, 'mimkumlis or Mi'mkwamlis, commonly known as Mamalilaculla, which is actually the name of the subgroup of the Kwakwaka'wakw whose home it is, is located on the west side of Village Island in the Johnstone Strait region of the Central Coast of British Columbia.
Gwayasdums is a village of the Kwakwaka'wakw peoples on the west side of Gilford Island in the Johnstone Strait region of the Central Coast of British Columbia, Canada. The village, located on Retreat Pass, is on Gwayasdums Indian Reserve No. 1. Other spellings of the name are Kwaustums and gwa'yasdams and Gwa'yasdams and Gwa’yasdams.
Cracroft is a locality at the east end of Forward Bay on the south side of West Cracroft Island in the Johnstone Strait region of the Central Coast of British Columbia, Canada.
Wells Passage is a strait and marine waterway in the northeastern Queen Charlotte Strait region of the Central Coast of British Columbia, Canada, on the west side of North Broughton Island. Across from that island, the headland at the northwest entrance to the passage is Compton Point.

Branching off to the northeast from the north side of the head of the inlet is Actaeon Sound.
Bonwick Island is an island in the Broughton Archipelago in Central Coast region of the Canadian province of British Columbia. The archipelago is on the northeast side of Queen Charlotte Strait and lies northwest of the village of Alert Bay and immediately to the west of Gilford Island, separated from it by Retreat Pass. Arrow Passage is to its northwest, separating it from Mars Island.
