Shawn M. Clark (born c. 1964) is an American organizational theorist, a senior lecturer at the College of Information Sciences and Technology of Pennsylvania State University, executive director of the defunct Institute for Global Prescience and a consultant. He is known for his work on strategic sensemaking in organizations. [1] [2]

Biography

Clark received his BA in 1986 from Brigham Young University, his MA in organizational behavior in 1989 from Marriott School of Management, and his PhD in business administration from Pennsylvania State University in 1996. [3]

Clark started his academic career as adjunct professor at Westminster College in 1989. The same year he moved to Pennsylvania State University, where he started as instructor at the Department of Management and Organization. In 1991 Clark became Distance Education Instructor, in 2000 assistant professor and since 2007 at the Enterprise Informatics and Integration Center. At the College of Information Sciences and Technology he was also director of Business Solutions from 2000 to 2001, co-director of its Solutions Institute from 2001 to 2003 and executive director at the now defunct Institute for Global Prescience from 2008 to 2009. [3] As consultant he worked for, among others, Brooklyn Union, Chubb Insurance, Ford Motor Company, IBM, Providence Gas and U.S. Marine Corps.

Clark's research interests are in the fields of "anticipatory socio-technical clue detection engines, enterprise process architecture visualization and alignment, and sensemaking via functional hierarchies." [4]

Steven A. Cohen (academic)

Steven A. Cohen is an American academic who has taught public management and environmental policy at Columbia University since 1981. He is the former Executive Director of Columbia University's Earth Instituteand now serves as a senior advisor for the Institute. He is a Professor in the Practice of Public Affairs at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. He is also the Director of the Master of Public Administration in Environmental Science and Policy in the School of International and Public Affairs and the Director of the Master of Science in Sustainability Management in the School of Professional Studies. He served on the Environmental Protection Agency Administrator's National Advisory Council for Environmental Policy and Technology (2002–2004). He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Homes for the Homeless, Board of Directors of the Willdan Group, Inc., Advisory Board of the University of Minnesota's Institute on the Environment, Steering Committee for the Porter School of Environmental Studies at Tel Aviv University and is the Chair of the Lotos Club Science and Technology Committee. Cohen also sits on the Judging Committee for the Yidan Prize Foundation.

Nick Bontis Canadian academic and soccer player

John Pourdehnad is an American organizational theorist, and consultant. He is associate director of the Ackoff Center for Advancement of Systems Approaches (ACASA), and Affiliated Faculty in the Organizational Dynamics Graduate Program at the University of Pennsylvania.

N. Srinivasa Iyer Ramaswamy (1926–2012), popularly known as Cartman Ramaswamy, was an Indian engineer, educationist, management academic and writer, and the founder director of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. He was the founder of Centre for Action, Research and Technology for Man, Animal and Nature (CARTMAN), a non governmental organization working for region-relevant and appropriate technology transfer to rural areas and Indian Heritage Academy, an organization involved in propagating Indian cultural traditions. He was also the founder chairman of the Adarsh Vidya Kendra (AVK) Group of educational institutions. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 2006, for his contributions to society.
