Shear Fear (Finnish : Kauhun millimetrit; literally translated "The Millimetres of Horror") is a 1992 Finnish horror film directed by Ilari Nummi. [1] The film set in the city center of Helsinki in the late 1980s summer, where everything starts from the small fears of everyday life, moving straight towards an area distorted by the terror. The film's actors include Tiina Tenhunen and Katja Krohn.
The film was screened at the Espoo Ciné International Film Festival in 1992 and at the Tampere Film Festival in 1993. [1]
Marja Sauri, who lives in Helsinki at the end of the 1980s, is going to the store to replace defective garden shears with new ones. Along the way, she collides with a woman on the street who Marja insults in anger. Within a day, Marja begins to see strange delusions about the same woman she encountered earlier.
The film received favorable reviews when it was released. In March 1992, Tarmo Poussu evaluated the film in Ilta-Sanomat , praising the film: "The film deftly picks up the anxieties of everyday life in its story and Katja Krohn very effectively outlines her wordless role as a hostile woman." However, Poussu also found flaws in the film: “Still, Shear Fear remain just an exercise. Its realistic and fantastic ingredients don’t always articulate.” [2]
In the opinion of Pertti Avola of Helsingin Sanomat , the film was “a controlled and safe job in all respects. It lives and breathes perfectly and retains its atmosphere well. Shear Fear aren't dug very deep into the subject or the people, but it might have shattered the film too much.” [2]

Pirjo Irene Honkasalo is a Finnish film director who has also worked as a cinematographer, film editor, producer, screenwriter and actress. In 1980 she co-directed Flame Top with Pekka Lehto, with whom she worked earlier and later as well. The film was chosen for the 1981 Cannes Film Festival. In the 1990s she focused on feature documentaries such as "The Trilogy of the Sacred and the Satanic". Honkasalo returned to fiction with Fire-Eater (1998) and Concrete Night (2013), both of which were written by Pirkko Saisio. Concrete Night won six Jussi Awards in 2014, among them the Jussi for the Best Direction and the Jussi for the Best Film. Its world premiere was at the Toronto International Film Festival in Masters series.
Johanna Vuoksenmaa is a Finnish television and film director and screenwriter who has also worked as a photographer, installation artist and a teacher. Her films have been shown at numerous film festivals around the world and she has won many Finnish film and television awards for directing and screenwriting. As a director and screenwriter, Vuoksenmaa prefers the comedy genre because to her comedy means relief, forgiveness and defense. She does not use casting agencies but prefers to cast actors to her films herself, since she thinks that it creates a level of trust between the actor and the director.

Johanna Rytkölä is a Finnish sculptor who works in stoneware ceramics. She studied at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki, Finland, receiving a Master of Arts degree in the Department of Art Education in 1982, and in 1986, a Master of Arts degree in the Department of Ceramics and Glass Design. Helldone was an annual music festival organized by Finnish gothic rock band HIM. Typically held on 31 December at the Tavastia Club, and its companion club the Semifinal, in Helsinki, Finland, Helldone began in 1999 as an annual New Year's Eve show for HIM, which grew out of vocalist Ville Valo's "hatred for music parties" and need to "do something more than just get fucked up at midnight". The shows were expanded into a festival in 2005 and renamed Helldone after the band's booking agent Tiina Vuorinen, née Welldone, and their hometown of Helsinki. Helldone also took-up a policy of named tickets, where attendees were required to provide identification matching their ticket upon entry to the venue.
Ilkka Raimo Olavi “Emu” Lehtinen was a record dealer in Helsinki, Finland, a founder and the chief executive officer of the record store Digelius Music. According to Helsingin Sanomat, Lehtinen was “a local guru for people who would be curious to listen to music irrespective of genres, and a person with whose help customers would find wonderful new experiences starting from clean slate.” According to another Helsinki newspaper, Hufvudstadsbladet, Lehtinen was “a living legend in Finnish music circles”.
