The Sheerness Times Guardian is a weekly newspaper serving the Isle of Sheppey, Kent. It is owned by the KM Group and is published on Wednesdays.
The Sheerness Times Guardian, in its current form, was formed in September 1939 by the merger of the Sheerness Guardian and the Sheerness Times. The former paper had launched in 1858, the latter in 1868r. [2]
It was bought by the KM Group in 1987. [3]
Along with the rest of the KM-owned papers, the Times Guardian was given a design overhaul in May 2005. [4]
The paper launched a special ale in 2008 to celebrate its 150th birthday. Named "STG150", it was launched by 3 local soldiers, with profits going to local charities in the Sheppey area. [5] During the course of the year, the paper also featured a special anniversary logo designed by local schoolchildren. [6]

The Isle of Sheppey is an island off the northern coast of Kent, England, neighbouring the Thames Estuary, centred 42 miles (68 km) from central London. It has an area of 36 square miles (93 km2). The island forms part of the local government district of Swale. Sheppey is derived from Old English Sceapig, meaning "Sheep Island".

A Google Doodle is a special, temporary alteration of the logo on Google's homepages intended to commemorate holidays, events, achievements, and notable historical figures. The first Google Doodle honored the 1998 edition of the long-running annual Burning Man event in Black Rock City, Nevada, and was designed by co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin to notify users of their absence in case the servers crashed. Early Marketing employee Susan Wojcicki then spearheaded subsequent Doodles, including an alien landing on Google and additional custom logos for major holidays. Google Doodles were designed by an outside contractor until 2000, when Page and Brin asked public relations officer Dennis Hwang to design a logo for Bastille Day. Since then, a team of employees called "Doodlers" have organized and published the Doodles.
The Prague Post was an English language newspaper covering the Czech Republic and Central and Eastern Europe which published its first weekly issue on October 1, 1991.
