Shehla Pervin is an Indian-American breast cancer specialist.
Breast cancer is cancer that develops from breast tissue. Signs of breast cancer may include a lump in the breast, a change in breast shape, dimpling of the skin, fluid coming from the nipple, a newly inverted nipple, or a red or scaly patch of skin. In those with distant spread of the disease, there may be bone pain, swollen lymph nodes, shortness of breath, or yellow skin.
Pervin obtained her Ph.D. in molecular biology from Jadavpur University in India. She received postdoctoral position at the University of Kentucky and in 2009 was hired by Charles Drew University as an assistant professor. In 2011 she was a guest editor for the Current Pharma Design Journal where she published numerous works regarding her study on breast cancer. Currently she is chairwoman of Radiation Safety Committee and a member of Research Academic Senate. In January 2013 her group proved that vitamin D plays an important role in preventing risk of mammary and breast cancer. [1]

After 17 years of working in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts on oral contraceptives with Harry Brodie, whom she married, she switched focus to the effects of the oestrogen-producing enzyme, aromatase, on breast cancer.

Edward Hébert School of Medicine of the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. She is also a past President of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), serving from 2012 through 2013.

Blandina Kondowe, born Blandina Mlenga, is best known as for her role as Miss Malawi 2002 and as the founder of Think Pink – Malawi campaign for breast cancer awareness. She is an advocate for breast cancer awareness and speaks about the lack of facilities and access to equitable management. She currently works as a civil servant for Malawi's Ministry of Tourism.
Natalie Sue Miller was an American fashion model, breast cancer survivor, breast cancer activist, counselor, and author. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, she moved to Denver, Colorado at age 19 as a newlywed and started a career in fashion modeling. After being diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 34 and undergoing a mastectomy, she created a fashion show featuring models who had also had breast cancer. In 1981, she founded the Sue Miller Day of Caring, a non-profit organization for breast cancer education and awareness. In its first 35 years, the Day of Caring has been a resource for over 17,500 survivors of breast cancer, providing educational forums and support services at its annual event, held in nine U.S. cities. Miller earned her bachelor's and master's degrees at age 60 and 75, respectively, and wrote her autobiography, I'm Tougher Than I Look, in 2004. In 2002, Miller was inducted into the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame.
