Sheila A. Skeaff (born 1961) is a Canadian-born New Zealand nutritionist and full professor at the University of Otago. [1] Her research focusses on food literacy, sustainable diets and iodine deficiency. [2]
Skeaff was born in 1961 [3] and grew up in northern Ontario [4] and graduated with an MSc in nutritional biochemistry from the University of Guelph in Canada in 1988. [3] She and her husband Murray Skeaff moved to Dunedin to work at the University of Otago [4] in mid-1989. She completed a PhD in human nutrition in 2004. [5]
In March 2018 Skeaff received a teaching excellence award from the University of Otago. [6]

Vegan nutrition refers to the nutritional and human health aspects of vegan diets. A well-planned, balanced vegan diet is suitable to meet all recommendations for nutrients in every stage of human life.
