Shelley Ludford (born 8 December 1998) is a British judoka. [1] [2]

Judo career

Ludford is three times champion of Great Britain, winning the half-heavyweight (-78 kg) division at the British Judo Championships in 2017, 2019 and 2022. [3] [4]

As a junior, she won the 2018 European Junior Cup in Kaunas and a Junior World Bronze medal in Nassau, Bahamas. The following year she won the Senior European Cup in Podčetrtek. [2] [5]

She competed for Israel at the 2020 Summer Olympics, winning a bronze medal in mixed team. She is the 2024 European Champion. Representing Israel at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Hershko won the silver medal in judo in the women's +78 kg, and also competed in the mixed team event, in which Team Israel came in ninth.

Gili Sharir is an Israeli judoka and Olympic bronze medalist, having won a bronze medal in mixed team event at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Sharir also won a bronze at the mixed team event of the 2022 World Championships. At the European Championships, she won a bronze medal in 2022 and a silver medal in 2023. Sharir represented Israel at the 2024 Paris Olympics in judo in the women's 63 kg, and in the mixed team event, at which Team Israel came in ninth.

The World Judo Juniors Championships are the highest level of international judo competition for juniors, 21 years of age or less. The championships are held once every year by the International Judo Federation, and qualified judoka compete in their respective categories as representatives of their home countries. The World Juniors Championships are the only junior event awarding ranking points for the seniors world ranking list. The last edition of the championships took place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan in 2024.

The IJF World Tour is a worldwide top-tier judo tour, organized by the International Judo Federation since 2009.
