Sher-e-Lahore is a 2001 Punjabi-language movie of Pakistan, directed by Sangeeta, starring Saima and Shaan. [1] [2]

Plot

'Bonny' is harassed by some 'Badmash' (goon) on her way back home while a wise old man reminisces about the British Raj days remarking that nobody dared to look disrespectfully at anybody else's daughter or sister and that Independence from British rule in 1947 has brought very little that is positive and tangible. Meanwhile, the college girl has had enough of the daily harassment at the hands of the men in the street and announces to her bemused parents about her intention of quitting her education altogether.

Both parents are angry and wish that she would continue her studies and the father, a righteous honest soul decides that from the next day onwards, he will accompany his daughter on her way to and back from her college. The next day, on the way to college, the father and daughter are inevitably menaced by the goons and a battle to death ensues with both father and daughter being slaughtered by the evil goons in the broad daylight with no apparent fear of police intervention. Moments later, the matriarch played by Madame Sangeeta in her highly anticipated return to the screen arrives on the scene and wails away in typical style promising the worst vengeance upon the murderers of her daughter and her husband. Crying for vengeance in the manner that Maula Jat's mother Dani once did, she lets out a mighty call for her son, Ali Sher, who like the great Maula Jat has extraordinary sensory capabilities. Seconds later, he arrives at the scene and dishes out some true Maula Jat style justice, slaying the beasts in an instant before letting out a cry of victory!

A proud mother gloats at her son's brilliant and swift bloody justice as he is led off to the notorious Macch Jail bellowing loudly that her son is to be known hence not as Ali Sher but as 'The Sher-e-Lahore' to which her son growls his approval while swaggering off. The news of the goons' deaths reaches notorious underworld kingpin Bandial (Tariq Shah) who promises to unleash his own terrible vengeance for the murder of his sons and so a deadly and obligatory blood feud between the Sher-e-Lahore and Bandial starts. The Legend of Maula Jatt is a 2022 Pakistani Punjabi-language action drama film directed and written by Bilal Lashari. The film is an adaptation and a soft reboot of the 1979 Lollywood film Maula Jatt. It is produced by Ammara Hikmat and Asad Jamil Khan under the production banner of Lashari Films and Encyclomedia. Saima Noor is a Pakistani actress who has appeared in Punjabi and Urdu films and Pakistani dramas. After making her film debut with Khatarnaak 1990, she appeared in a wide range of successful Punjabi films, mostly in which she was starred opposite action hero Sultan Rahi. She rose to prominence when director Syed Noor introduced her in Urdu feature films, and became one of the leading and highest-paid actresses of Pakistani cinema after starring in the mainstream Punjabi-language film Choorian, which ranks among the highest grossing Pakistani films of all time. Choorian also holds the record to be one of the longest running Pakistani films showcased at a single screen cinema where it ran for five years. In the same year, Saima agreed to work in female centric action film Daku Rani which opened to mixed reviews. In 2000, she acted in the successful horror film Billi, also directed by Noor. Saima was praised for playing double roles of a fearless girl and her mother in adventure film Jungle Queen. After many successful films, her career was disturbed after the decline of Lollywood in early 2000s. However, she shot to fame again due to her performance in blockbuster film Majajan and reprise the same character in the film's sequel Zill-e-Shah. Her film Majajan ran for five years in cinemas. During the shooting of Majajan, director Syed Noor married her but kept it a secret until Saima publicly revealed in a 2007's press conference that the couple married in 2005. In 2012, she starred in another film with Noor, titled Shareeka which generated negative reviews and turned out to be a disaster.

Ali Ejaz was a Pakistani film and television actor known for his film roles in FBI Operation Pakistan (1971), Sona Chandi (1983), and Chor Machaye Shor (1996). He was given the Pride of Performance Award in 1993 by the President of Pakistan.
