Sheryl St. Germain (born 1954 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is an American poet, essayist, and professor.
She is of Cajun and Creole descent. Her father was Jules St. Francois St. Germain and her mother Myrl Marie Frank. Born and raised in south Louisiana, much of her work deals with the culture and environment of Louisiana. Currently, she directs the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Program at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She has also taught at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, 1991–94; Knox College, 1994–98; and Iowa State University, 1998-2005.
She studied at Southeastern Louisiana University (B.A.) and University of Texas at Dallas, (M.A. and Ph.D.).
St. German's father, brother, and son died of substance abuse, and St. Germain has written both essays and poems that address substance abuse. She co-founded Words Without Walls, Words, a creative partnership between the Chatham MFA Creative Writing Program, Allegheny County Jail (ACJ), and Sojourner House, a residential drug and alcohol treatment facility for mothers and their children.
Naomi Shihab Nye is an American poet, editor, songwriter, and novelist. Born to a Palestinian father and an American mother, she began composing her first poetry at the age of six. In total, she has published or contributed to over 30 volumes of poetry. Her works include poetry, young-adult fiction, picture books, and novels. Nye received the 2013 NSK Neustadt Prize for Children's Literature in honor of her entire body of work as a writer, and in 2019 the Poetry Foundation designated her the Young People's Poet Laureate for the 2019–21 term.

Jack Elliott Myers, was an American poet and educator. He was Texas Poet Laureate in 2003, and served on the faculty of Southern Methodist University in Dallas for more than 30 years. Katherine Indermaur is a Swiss-American writer, poet, and magazine editor. In 2008, she was appointed as the first North Carolina Student Poet Laureate by Kathryn Stripling Byer. She authored the 2018 chapbook PULSE, the 2021 chapbook Facing the Mirror: An Essay, and the 2022 poetry book I/I, the latter received positive reviews from Diana Khoi Nguyen and Jenny Boully. She is a recipient of the 2018 Academy of American Poets Prize, the 2019 Black Warrior Review Poetry Prize, and 2022 Deborah Tall Lyric Essay Book Prize. Indermaur was a runner-up in 92nd Street Y's Discovery Poetry Contest in 2020.
