Kholofelo Ashley Raphala, [1] professionally known as Shimza, is South African DJ and music producer. Born and raised in Tembisa, Shimza developed a musical interest at the age of 15, [2] and signed a recording deal with Soulistic Music and released his debut studio album Shimuzic, in 2015. [3]

He is the founder of the annual One Man Show, launched in 2009 to raise funds for underprivileged children in Tembisa. [4]

Shimza has performed at international festivals and venues including Cercle, Tomorrowland, Burning Man and Ultra Music Festival. [5] In Ibiza, he has held a residency at Chinois and has appeared at Privilege. [6] He has also been a speaker at music industry panels such as the International Music Summit (IMS) in Ibiza and Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). [7]

In 2020, Shimza founded Kunye, a platform aimed at showcasing African electronic music and connecting it with global audiences. [8] He has received nominations for the South African Music Awards (SAMA) and the Ibiza DJ Awards. [9]

His 2023 single *"Fire Fire"* received international support and was played at clubs and festivals worldwide. [10] .
