Shirthady (or Shirtady) is a village near Moodabidri town in Dakshina Kannada district. It is surrounded by forest.

This village has several schools like Jawaharlal Nehru High School, Mount Carmel School, Bhuvana Jyoti Residential School and also has Mount Carmel Church with a rich Christian history [1] and other places of local importance.

It is a junction for buses towards Mantrady, Hosmar, Perady, Marody, Naravi and Moodabidri.

The distance from Shirthady to Moodabidri is 11 kms and from Shirthady to Mangalore is 42 kms and from Shirtady to Kudremukh is about 71 kms.

Covelong (Kovalam) is a fishing village in Chennai, India, 40 kilometres south of Chennai, on the East Coast Road en route to Mahabalipuram. Covelong was a port town developed in the 1720s by the Ostend Company on a place provided by the Nawab of Carnatic Saadat Ali. The factory was inaugurated in 1719 by Sir Godefroid Gollet de La Merveille, and the building of a fort started at that time.
