Shiva Swaroop was an Indian Police Officer. He served as the Director General of Central Reserve Police Force in Nagaland from 1975 to 1981. [1] Later, he was the Lieutenant Governor of Arunachal Pradesh from November 1985 to February 1987. [2] [3]
Nagaland Lok Sabha constituency is the only Lok Sabha in the Northeastern state of Nagaland. It participated in its first general election in 1967 and its first member of parliament (MP) was S. C. Jamir of the Nagaland Nationalist Organisation who was elected unopposed. In 1969, the Twenty-third Amendment of the Constitution of India discontinued the reservation of the seat to Scheduled Tribes. In the 1971 election, A. Kateekal Sankaranarayanan is the ex-governor of the Indian state of Maharashtra. He had also served as the Governor of Nagaland and Jharkhand. Prior to his appointment as governor, he had served as a minister in several Congress led governments of Kerala headed by Chief Ministers A K Antony and K. Karunakaran. On 24 August 2014 he was transferred by the NDA government to Mizoram.
Taditui Rangkau Zeliang is an Indian politician of who served twice as the Chief Minister of Nagaland, a state in India, from May 2014 to February 2017 and from July 2017 to March 2018. A leader of the Naga People's Front, T.R Zeliang took over the reins as Chief Minister of Nagaland following the shift of Neiphiu Rio to national-level politics. T.R Zeliang previously served as a Member of Parliament, representing Nagaland in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. Chekrovolu Swuro is an Indian archer. She represented India in archery in the 2002 Asian Games and 2006 Asian Games held at Busan, South Korea, and Doha, Qatar, respectively. She was a member of the silver medal-winning team in the 2011 World Archery Championships, held at Turin, Italy. By winning a silver medal in the team event at the 2011 World Archery Championships in Turin, she qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in both women's individual and team archery.
Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi is a 2013 Indian Malayalam-language road adventure film directed and co-produced by Sameer Thahir and written by Hashir Muhammad. The film stars Dulquer Salmaan and Sunny Wayne with Dhritiman Chatterjee, Surja Bala Hijam in supporting roles. The movie was inspired from the book Long Way Down. The movie was a hit at the Kerala box office and has since developed a cult following among the youth of Kerala. The film began shooting in the north-eastern state of Nagaland in February 2013 and completed its shoot in June 2013. The film was shot at real locations in eight Indian states, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh,Tamil Nadu Odisha, West Bengal, Nagaland and Sikkim.

A mob of about 7000–8000 people broke into a prison, dragged a man detained under suspicion of rape out of the Dimapur Central Jail, paraded him naked and beat him to death in a case of vigilante justice.
Ralengnao Khathing MC, MBE (1912–1990) popularly known as Bob Khathing, was an Indian soldier, civil servant and diplomat and the first person of tribal origin to serve as an Ambassador for India. The Government of India honoured him in 1957, with the award of Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award for his services to the nation.
Achyut Madhav Gokhale was a Indian civil servant, writer and a former Secretary to the Government of India at the Ministry of Non Conventional Energy Sources, known for his contributions towards the government initiatives such as Village Development Boards and Jawahar Rozgar Yojana. He was an executive director of the MS Swaminathan Research Foundation, a former Chief Secretary of the state of Nagaland and a former chairman of the Genetic Engineering Approval Committee of the Ministry of Environment and Forests. Born on 3 January 1946, Gokhale graduated in Physics from the University of Mumbai in 1965, entered the Indian Administrative Service in 1968 from the Nagaland cadre and served various government offices till his superannuation in January 2006. During his tenure with the Government of Nagaland, he is known to have launched a people's programme, Nagaland Empowerment of People through Economic Development (NEPED), which had reported success in getting the involvement of the people of Nagaland. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian award of Padma Shri in 1990.
Abrar Anjum Kazi is an Indian cricketer. Ahead of the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, he transferred from Karnataka to Nagaland. In the opening match of the tournament, against Mizoram, he scored his maiden double century in first-class cricket. He was the leading run-scorer for Nagaland in the tournament, with 814 runs in eight matches. He was also the leading wicket-taker for the team, with 34 dismissals. In November 2019, along with C. M. Gautam, he was arrested for alleged fixing in the Karnataka Premier League.

He has also served as a minister of the state, has contested the state assembly elections in 1993 as an Indian National Congress candidate and is a former leader of the Congress legislature party in the assembly. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2016, for his contributions to Public affairs.
The Nagaland Legislative Assembly election, 2018 was held on 27 February 2018 in 59 out of 60 constituencies of the Legislative Assembly of Nagaland. The scheduled election in Northern Angami II constituency did not take place as only incumbent MLA Neiphiu Rio was nominated and was therefore declared elected unopposed. The counting of votes took place on 3 March 2018.
