Christopher Thomas Schewe, also known as ShoeNice 22, is an American comedian, competitive eater, and YouTuber. [2]

Biography

He was born in Albany, New York on May 30, 1969. He is an army veteran. [3]

His YouTube channel was started by his son on April 11, 2008 [4] and he recorded himself eating a piece of paper as a prank before eventually becoming viral for filming himself eating other things. [5] He would eat raw eggs, burgers with the wrapping paper, [6] Vegemite, and toilet paper [7] for the purpose of "stopping world hunger", and he managed to rack up over 200,000 subscribers on his original channel while gaining a huge following. [8]

He also started chugging large amounts of alcohol, especially vodka. [9] This has led to skeptics thinking he may have staged his videos. [4] Known for his eccentric eating challenges, he is a veteran of the United States Army. [10] [11] He also protested with students at University at Albany following the suspension of Fountain Day at the school in 2011. [12]

In 2013, he set the Guinness World Record for eating the most lit birthday cake candles in 1 minute and 12 seconds. [13]

In 2017, his son confirmed the legitimacy of a series of a series of Twitter posts, also known as a thread, alleging negligence and occasional abuse perpetrated by Schewe. When asked about the particulars by the Brooklyn Rail in an op-ed piece regarding "lol-cows," he described his father as a soft tempered man in the beginning of his life, but "the drinking changed him. He already had trouble with it before then, but the attention from YouTube just made it worse. I wish I never made it for him." [14]

Schewe maintains a presence on TikTok and Cameo.
