Shooting Guns are a Canadian heavy metal band from Saskatoon, SK. They have been nominated for the JUNO Award and Polaris Prize. Their style is influenced by Black Sabbath and kraut rock.

Saskatoon is the largest city in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It straddles a bend in the South Saskatchewan River in the central region of the province. It is located along the Trans-Canada Yellowhead Highway, and has served as the cultural and economic hub of central Saskatchewan since it was founded in 1882 as a Temperance colony.

Black Sabbath were an English rock band, formed in Birmingham in 1968, by guitarist and main songwriter Tony Iommi, bassist and main lyricist Geezer Butler, drummer Bill Ward, and singer Ozzy Osbourne. Black Sabbath are often cited as pioneers of heavy metal music. The band helped define the genre with releases such as Black Sabbath (1970), Paranoid (1970), and Master of Reality (1971). The band had multiple line-up changes, with Iommi being the only constant member throughout its history.

Shooting Guns scored the soundtrack to Canadian horror-comedy film WolfCop and released the Official Soundtrack in 2014 in partnership with One Way Static, RidingEasy Records, and Cinecoup. Their sophomore LP, Brotherhood of the Ram, released in 2013 through RidingEasy Records was nominated for the Juno Awards of 2015 Metal/Hard Album of the Year^[1] and the 2014 Polaris Music Prize.^[2] Their debut LP, Born To Deal in Magic: 1952-1976, was also nominated for the 2012 Polaris Music Prize.^[3]

WolfCop is a 2014 Canadian horror comedy film written and directed by Lowell Dean. The film was released to Cineplex Odeon theatres nationwide on 6 June 2014. It is the first film chosen for production from the CineCoup Film Accelerator. It stars Jesse Moss, Amy Matysio, Jonathan Cherry, Sarah Lind, Aidan Devine, Corrine Conley and Leo Fafard. The plot revolves around an alcoholic small town cop who transforms into a werewolf after being cursed. However, he still possesses his human intelligence in wolf form and continues his work as a police officer even in wolf form. WolfCop was released to UK DVD and Blu-ray on 13 October 2014.

The Juno Awards of 2015 honoured Canadian music industry achievements in the latter part of 2013 and in most of 2014. The awards were presented in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada during the weekend of 14–15 March 2015. The main ceremony was conducted at FirstOntario Centre and televised on CTV. Various concerts and events related to the awards began on 9 March 2015. This marked the sixth time that the awards were presented in Hamilton, which last hosted the Junos in 2001.

The 2014 edition of the Canadian Polaris Music Prize was presented on September 22, 2014 at The Carlu event theatre in Toronto, Ontario. Actor Jay Baruchel was the host of the ceremony.

Arkells are a Canadian rock band, formed in Hamilton, Ontario. In 2006, they signed with Dine Alone Records, and have since signed with Universal Records Canada and Last Gang Records. Whitehorse is a Canadian folk rock band composed of husband-and-wife duo Luke Doucet and Melissa McClelland. Based in Hamilton, Ontario, Doucet and McClelland were both established singer-songwriters before opting to put their solo careers on hold to work together as Whitehorse.

PUP is a Canadian punk rock band formed in Toronto, Ontario in 2010, originally under the name Topanga. PUP's self-titled debut album was released on October 8, 2013 on Royal Mountain Records. In December 2013, PUP signed with SideOneDummy Records and re-released their debut album in the United States on April 8, 2014.
