Shouryuv (born Koduri Yuvaraj Shourya Simha) is an Indian film director and screenwriter known for working in Telugu cinema. [1] [2] [3] He made his directorial debut with the film Hi Nanna (2023), which earned him multiple accolades, including a Filmfare Award, a SIIMA Award, the Behindwoods Gold Hall of Famers award, and honors from the Swedish International Film Festival, Sweden and Oniros Film Awards, New York.
Shouryuv born in Visakhapatnam completed his MBBS at Maharajah Institute of Medical Sciences in Vizianagaram. He later moved to Hyderabad to pursue a career in filmmaking. [4]
Shouryuv worked under the mentorship of V. Vijayendra Prasad and also worked on the films like Jaguar (2016) and Adithya Varma (2019). [5] [6]
In 2023, he directed his first feature Hi Nanna starring Nani, Mrunal Thakur and Shruti Haasan. [7] The film became a commercial success at the box office and earned praise from critics. Sangeetha Devi Dundoo of The Hindu wrote, "Shouryuv’s drama is a breather amid larger-than-life action entertainers." [8] and Neeshitha Nyayapati of Hindustan Times wrote, "Shouryuv’s debut film is an emotional drama that’ll tug at your heart, both with its performances and storyline." [9] Also Allu Arjun congratulated the team and praised Shouryuv on his directorial debut, describing it as "impressive". [10]
