Don Sardha Brendon Priyantha Kuruppu is a former Sri Lankan cricketer who played as a wicket-keeper and opening batsman. He is one of few batsmen in the world to score a double century on debut. Sagi Lakshmi Venkatapathy Raju,better known as Venkatapathy Raju,is a former Indian cricketer,cricket administrators and cricket coach. He came into the Indian side in 1989–90 after capturing 32 wickets in the domestic season. He made his Test and One Day International debut on the tour of New Zealand. When sent in as a night-watchman in his first Test innings,he batted for more than two hours for 31 runs while six wickets fell at the other end. He was a part of the Indian squad which won the 1990-91 Asia Cup.
Salil Ashok Ankola is a former international cricketer who played one Test match and 20 One Day Internationals (ODIs) from 1989 to 1997 for India. A right-arm fast-medium bowler,he played first-class cricket for Mumbai,regularly opening the bowling. Ankola's consistency for Mumbai team earned him a spot for representing India during their tour of Pakistan in 1989–90. After the first Test match at Karachi,he was dropped for the subsequent matches in the series owing to injuries. At 28,Ankola retired from international cricket to pursue acting. Since then he went on to appear in a number of Indian soap operas and a few Hindi films. In 2020,he was selected as the chief selector of the Mumbai Cricket Association. He was a selector of the National team from January 2023 till August 2024.
Graeme Fredrick Labrooy is a former Sri Lankan cricketer who played in nine Test matches and 44 One Day International from 1986 to 1992. He was the chairman of selectors for the national team and currently serves as an international match referee. His younger brother Wendell Labrooy is also a first-class cricketer and match referee. Labrooy holds the unique distinction of never playing any of his nine test matches at home. He had modelled his text book bowling action on Richard Hadlee and he was regarded as a huge fan of Hadlee.
