Shanno Khurana is a noted Indian classical vocalist and composer, from the Rampur-Sahaswan gharana of Hindustani classical music. Sharma Bandhu refers to four Indian classical vocalist brothers, who perform bhajan and Hindu devotional music. They were born in the music family of Pandit Jyoti Prasad and Pandit Munshi Ram to the student of Pandit V. D. Paluskar, founder of Gandharva Mahavidyalaya. Quartet consists of the Pandit Gopal Sharma, Pandit Shukdev Sharma, Pandit Kaushalendra Sharma and Pandit Raghavendra Sharma.
Pandit Dr. S. Ballesh, born Ballappa Sanna Bharamappa Bhajantri and also known as S. Ballesh Bhajantri on 1 April 1958) is an Indian classical Hindustani shehnai player. One of the most well-known disciples of shehnai player Bharat Ratna Ustad Bismillah Khan, he is an expert in Benares gharana shehnai playing, and a Patiala gharana Hindustani vocalist, ghazal singer, Indian Playback singer and musician, often referred by the title Panditji and BadeGuruji. Ballesh is credited with popularizing the shehnai, a reeded woodwind instrument. While the shehnai had long held importance as a folk instrument played in traditional ceremonies in India, Ballesh is credited with elevating its status and bringing it back to the centre stage. He plays often for Prasar Bharati's All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan.

He is the author of four books on music, Mehfil, a historical reference book of music, Swar Gandh, a book of biosketches and music-related anecdotes, Kaljayee Sur: Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, a biographical work on the life and music of Bhimsen Joshi, and Surile Logon ki Sangath, which details the lives and music of some of the notable Hindustani classical musicians. His efforts are also known in promoting music and musicians of Bihar and he is reported to have initiated scholarship schemes for musicians during his tenure as the head of the Bihar Sangeet Natak Academy. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2007, for his contributions to Indian music. His life has been documented in an autobiography, Bihar ke Sangeeth Parampara, which was published by Delhi Public School, Ludhiana, in 2014.
